Just to be clear, the comments I heard aimed at Compton came before the equaliser. Things were not working for the lad and Rovers were on top. Compton was still showing for the ball and putting the effort in, but he wasn't getting any joy. A few were on his case for a while when the score was still 2-1

Compton's exchange with the fan(s) was, as RB said, in stoppage time at 2-2. I couldn't here what was said. He had just been dispossessed and there was some general exasperated muttering. What was said to Compton was lost among that, as was his reply. It was neither a heated exchange nor a long one. I assume what Compton heard was the last straw after getting regularly slagged for the preceding 15 minutes and I'm sure was just as much pissed off at losing the goal as some of the fans were.

Didnt know he'd taken any stick beforehand. Personally I thought Walton was our worst player and didnt think Compton had been shit. I suppose everyone sees things differently.

Fair play to him for having a go back imo.

If he is homesick and I presume currently residing here with his mate Rodney, then if Rodney gets released then cant imagine that helping either.

there's a massive difference between not having a good game and not trying (like we have all seen over the years at some time or other, as all fans do at all clubs)

I honestly don't know why they go to the match if that's what they are clearly prepared to do, just for a player who is not playing well......

I think Sweeney is piss poor in a 4 man midfield, but I will back him all the way while he's out on that pitch.... even if he's having a stinker one thing he always does is do his best. I'll never accuse him of not doing that (even though it isn't good enough 9 times out of 10)!!! What would heckling him do? All it's doing is helping the opposition!!

Now as for heckling opponents and officials, I'm a professor at that

Ah, the gratuitous RB dig at Walton. All's well with the world.

What was that clown of a Hartlepool Mail reporter thinking of?

"...Pools then enjoyed plenty of the ball, Walton at the heart of the play."

Cooper out.

I'd quite like to see one of our dickhead fans get smacked in the mouth by a player or kicked Cantona style.

You can guarantee the mouthy ones would be the first to run off crying though.

I fully expect him to be booed next game for daring to lose the ball.

It always amuses me that the players get such stick off usually pissed up fat blokes that have never played football at any level. Not even when they were at school.

My lad is playing for Greatham now, and they have some parents who give dogs abuse to our own players........and I know for a fact these blokes couldnt tie their own boot laces, never mind play.

Its funny listening to them complaining that the lads cant control a ball and pass it in one movement on some of the pitches they have to play on............and I look at the blokes saying it, and know they have never played the game.......ever.

Surely in that scenario someone could just take him off for a quiet word and give him a slap.

I have just read Mr Pia's report on Into the Blue and he has a real go at Compton. I wasn't there so can't comment.

Compton Heights runs in the 5.10 at Hamilton, delayed around an hour. Currently 11/2 and looks likely to go very close.
