There was very little between thek, both great finishes. The goal of the season contest that year was superb. I think eifion had three entries.

Funny how you have to dig into decades old footage to find anything decent.

Sheffield United away one of his most memorable goals for the club being a childhood blades fan.

He's offered plenty of decent touches over the last two years he probably had more decent games than the likes of Walton and Sweeney last year, was more use to the squad than the embarrassing Luscombe.

He's left now, surely you can let it (wherever it is) go?

It amuses me no end how Mr I can HATE a footballer so much, yet wanks over that horrible fucking woman.

What kind of person can possibly hate a mere footballer that much? We arent talking about one that has deliberately broke someones leg or got pissed every night.

Or worse, wanks over that woman?

Mr I will correct me if I'm wrong but, as an ex soldier, he places loyalty, comradeship and the army equivalent of team spirit very high.
What he witnessed regarding Humps doesn't sit easy with him and he has taken the same line despite it being quite a few years ago.
I respect that, not only because it is his right to hold the opinion that he does, but also that it is indicative of his own high standards.
My stance on Humps is quite simply that he isn't the player he was and needs to take the next step in his football career. He wants to play on and I respect that but I don't want him as a player at Pools any more.
I have renewed my ST (all three of us have) because I believe the club have taken a few decisions which hopefully will take us forward and out of the cosy rut we appeared to have been in.
I don't sit easy with all the decisions made recently but I believe a significant improvement is possible and gives me hope that I didn't have a few weeks ago.
Hence my renewal.
Time will tell if my new found confidence is justified and me and the club are now on a year by year rolling contract.

we'll never know, but by jove the club had to try to change things and the club has done this...... they have at last tried to evict the malaise from the club. As you say we may not improve immediately, but surely to shite we WILL given time? There was only one way the club was heading with dressing room contributions from Mr Barron and Mr Humphreys.
Like it or not, depsite their length of service, theirs was a very very poor influence on HUFC

Good riddance to them for their recent contributions, and in the coming season to people like Monkhouse, Sweeney etc who will hopefully be replaced by better quality footballers

Does anyone still say 'let go' when referring to farting these days?

I agree totally about the first bit regarding MrI. It's quite obvious he isn't making it up about what he overheard as others who were apparently there fail to say one way or the other what was said.

If it was just bullshit it still isn't good having senior pros going on like that and it does seem that every manager since then except for Danny Wilson has had problems being fully in control. It was Wilson who sent Humphreys to Port Vale on loan and, with hindsight, I wonder if that was his way of telling the whole squad who the boss was rather than just a message to one player. The way he left also suggested that he was adamant about being in full control.

I think there's been folks at the club for a long time with a lot of influence behind the scenes, but on the face of it didn't "officially" have any position which would merit or justify such influence. Slowly but surely the longest standing people at the club are being winkled out. Thank Allah that Turner threw himself on his sword 3 or 4 years back or else the grip of that bunch would have been vice- like by now, cos that bloke would have been here forever

Of course it was, that was a superb piece of man management by Wilson. We'd had a bad start to the season and he was letting the whole squad know that nobody is safe. Plus Humps came back and played very well himself.

It sort of should have put some of the wilder conspiracy theories about the way the club is run to bed. Not a chance though

Well recent events suggest the players and senior staff don't have as much power that has been intimated in the past. That example was one of a manager being in full control, which has also been suggested as something that hasn't happened under IOR.

Hodcroft and Green call the shots, that is clear.

I fail to see anything 180 faced about that.

agreed that Green/ Hodcroft rule the roost on player retention rather than the team manager... but I firmly believe that they can't operate without stooges on a day to day basis. Their stooges most recently were Barron and Humphreys, whose collective input was piss poor on and off the field . There has been senior football men in such a structure and those two were the senior two in recent years- and any team manager such as Wadsworth, Cooper and Hughes would not have been completely entitled to overrule them in my opinion.
You have to agree it is hard to argue with that... after all they seen off 2 blokes before they were canned alongside the 3rd one!!!!

I think stooges is a little bit far fetched.

Maybe Barron just wasn't that good at his job? Poor man management and coaching that left a lot to be desired were two things we heard. Hodcroft isn't around that often so I see a more a case of misplaced loyalty than anything more sinister. Barron might not have been brilliant at his job but he's not the devil some are making him out to be. It's taken relegation for the powers that be to see past that loyalty and look a bit closer at every aspect of the club.

Humphreys is a different kettle of fish altogether as the reason he's left the club is because of his desire to carry on playing if he was prepared to hang up his boots I'm sure he'd still be at the club in some capacity. Totally fair enough on his part and the clubs in my eyes. He often got lumped in the same boat as Barron, unfairly at times. I've not heard anything but respect for him from fellow pros and have heard that he's a fairly promising coach.

I didnt see anything. All I usually see is Walton talking about his daughter/Leeds and the younger players talking about Nandos. Very rare they mention football.

I didn't see anything either like, Barron is back on Twitter now though.

The silence was deafening when cooper left too.

Plenty of tributes about paul murrey when he left, luke james espcially.

To be fair I'd imagine the club have a code of conduct regarding Twitter, I'd be surprised if they were allowed to speak about a departing member of staff positively or negatively.

Some of the players wives however.......

There was at least 4 or 5 players who seemed gutted when paul murrey left.

Does the code of conduct involve coaches trying to get players to sign for golf n social? See my signature.

If they have a code of conduct its a very loose one.
