10 at home and 8 away. Being very optomistic I gaze into my crystal ball and predict

Hartlepool V Notts County 0
Swindon V Hartlepool 0
Hartlepool V Portsmouth 3
Hartlepool V Leyton Orient 1
Scunthorpe V Hartlepool 1
Hartlepool V Crewe 3
Doncaster V Hartlepool 0
Hartlepool V Colchester 3
Hartlepool V Yeovil 3
Oldham V Hartlepool 1
Coventry V Hartlepool 1
Hartlepool V Walsall 3
Hartlepool V MK Dons 0
Stevenage V Hartlepool 0
Hartlepool V Bury 3
Tranmere V Hartlepool 0
Hartlepool V Brentford 0
Crawley V Hartlepool 1

24 + 16 = 42

Enough to stay up? Would mean a 1.33 point average per game when averaging 0.57 up to now and 0.24 under Yogi

You may want to have a look at your maths there Mr. Qwerty. I make that 23 more points, and added to 16 equals 39, which would not be enough to stay up.

Pools have 7 points from 9 in the last 3 away games. But the other way of looking at it is 4 from 12 in the last four matches. It does make me wonder if the people like me who only see home games are being unduly pessimistic. Things have definitely picked up a bit away from home.

The man Hughes says he's going to treat the next 18 games as cup finals, and why shouldn't he? Mind, that talk won't last long unless Pools start getting something out of home games. I don't expect the Vic to be a fortress, but it would be great if there was a fighting chance of getting a result. Looking forward to Notts County now!

Here's another fact with numbers in it.

The last time I saw Pools win was on Boxing Day, 2004: Pools 2 (Boyd 2 pens) Oldham 1, and if I remember rightly they had a decent player named after an Irish beer.

And it's not for the want of going. I've seen us not win all over the place, including the Vic.

So you didn't see us win properly then either. We all know penalties don't count!
