when was the last time he posted?

The olympics has been a major success, a great feel good factor in an otherwise miserable time economically, lets hope it leaves a legacy.

It was something to watch.
Enjoyed seeing Farah, Pendleton, Wiggins, Hoy, Glover and Stanning and of course Bolt.
Highlight was seeing Farah win the 10,000 metres, really enjoyed that.
The low point, the closing ceremony. Load of shite!!

Shame grassroots sport will suffer for years to come and don't forget in Hartlepool there is no running track
and we have had 2 learner swimming pools closed. Lets not forget that most are elite sportsmen and women from private schools and colleges.
The feel good factor will go but the legacy/debt will be with us for many years to come.

Just passed dyke house school and seen 3 kids chasing a horse around the field with a some wood planks thats as close as they will get to the dressage and fencing gold.

I wasnt bothered about the Olympics at all but as soon as it started I was hooked. I was even lucky enough to go for free to a couple events and I am so glad I did was once in a lifetime thing and with FIFA giving the world cup to people that have never had it before I doubt that I will see another such sporting event here.

Lets be honest a lot of people thought we would mess it up and fall on our faces, how wrong could they have been. Yes it cost a lot but when you think it cost less than half what China paid to put it on I think we have done a cracking job and equally as good as them.

The real star of the shows apart from the voulenteers who couldnt have been nicer and happy to help was the UK athletes who stepped up to the plate and delivered.

It was a fantastic event. We exceeded all expectations on the venues, security, transport etc etc. Most of all it was a very happy games with Britain and its people being showed off at their best (compared to the thugs who seem to follow our football team). Our sportsmen and women gave us everything we could have expected and more. Like many others on here I watched sports I would never have considered watching and found myself enthralled by the sporting spectacle. The Olympic park was first class and the volunteers helped get people in and out with a smile on their face - a special well done to them.

The games put the Great back into Britain for the first time in a long time. Well done to all concerned.

PS I bet FIFA are kicking themselves for not giving the world cup to England.

As a family we've watched nearly every second, bear in mind I have two teenage Daughters and a Mrs who doesn't like football so the times we've all watched sport together over the years could be counted on the fingers of one hand.

Over the last couple of weeks we've screamed, shouted, laughed, cried (OK..that was me!) and talked, argued, discussed, had bets etc...it's been brilliant.

PLUS...my Gaffer is a Cockney. Despite being in his 50's he put himself forward very early as a "Gamesmaker" and to cut a long story short got some prime jobs inside the stadium, trackside, for some of the really big events. As well as getting rid of him for three whole weeks, he has been literally "High as a kite" for months with his eye firmly off the ball at work. Its been like having a 3 month respite! We've made more progress here than we have for years!

Seriously though it's been amazing. Truly inspiring and a real "lift".

I thought it would be a load of shit and had no interest in it but actually enjoyed it (although im glad its over as it dragged on a bit for me and theres some friggin stupid events in the Olympics these days)

Not sure if I or the others would have enjoyed it if GB hadnt won as many medals as we did mind.

Opening ceremony was enjoyable too.

Glad it took place down South tho as it would be a right fucking nuisance having that taking place on your doorstep.

Seems everyone enjoyed it except Morrissey, whom it reminded of 1939 Germany.

So now the Olympics has finished are those that excelled at London 2012 going back to norm with a bump?
Are we soon to go back to taking the details of things going wrong and magnifying them.
Remember the seats that went empty, the days that passed without a gold medal !#We still have a question of legacy and the question is a tough one.
How do we follow this?
What comes next?

In a way though this nation is in debt. Our land of doubters have already set a new tone.
Back in the day when the games were on there way to London there was a time to be a bit sceptical about the whole thing.
The torch pulled people out of there homes up and down and all the way across the country.
This is what people thought of the games and it simply went on from thereand it turned into two weeks in which we looked at sport and each other.
Could we afford it? Probably not.
Was it worth it?
The people who came out and made the games of 2012 have already answered that question !
" Inspire a generation " The billboard slogan that became the olympic , the wish that cam true.
Highlights of a hotday watching New Zealand v Belgium and it being glorious weather and 2 hours Later getting soaked !
200k plus people enjoying themselves in the Olympic Park. A wonderful atmosphere !
USA USA USA being chanted in Earls court but i must say that Kim from Korea ! Enough said.
Hyde park watching the open swimming and the crowds were unbelievable. It goes on !

Echo...echoo...echoooo.......

I don't know what the quote was from but anyway, wait and see. Everybody is on a high, and yes, it was both entertaining and different.

Sadly, I don't think it'll pull Britain out of the shit.

Yeah, if you want stabbing, shooting, massive taxation, rioting, national illegal drug abuse, vomit filled streets, constant worry about your family being out of the house or i8n the house alone, burglary, relentless CCTV, deprivation of benefits for the disabled, a war on the motorist and unemployment.

I'll stick with my hell hole thanks.

Welcome to your nirvana. clappp clappp

Totally agree.

A marvellous two weeks. Never thought for one minute that I would enjoy as much as I did.

If that doesnt inspire the kids to go out and and take up sport, then they might as well go and get their first bag of glue now.

Loved it. Unfortunately, one of the better players from the kids team, wont have seen it, as we cant get the stupid little fooker out of the arcades at Seaton. Shame.
