No hidden agenda over Mill House Masterplan from Pools
9:05am Wednesday 4th July 2012 in Sport By Nick Loughlin

RESIDENTS, councillors and supporters of Hartlepool United were last night urged to back the development of the Mill House area of town.

At a meeting of the Mill House Area Action Group at Victoria Park, the potential to develop "world class" sporting facilities were put on show.

The plans include a new leisure centre, housing, student accommodation and a hotel as well as a new 3,000 seater stand at Victoria Park.

Five different development options have been drawn up, with computer generated images of the ideas on show last night from preferred developers Gus Robinson Ltd.

Pools pay £18,000 a year in rent to the council and part of the masterplan includes ownership of Victoria Park being handed to the club.

The club's chief executive Russ Green: "It's not just about the football club owning the ground, it is about the future development of the town. The club is part of the community and has progressed on that front immensely over recent years.

"We have to make the club survive and prosper and there's more to the club than Saturday afternoons and we work intensely off the field in the community.

"IOR have invested millions into the town over the years and it wasn't for them this club wouldn't be here today. They want to expand. There's no hidden agenda. An independent survey revealed this club is worth £5.7m to the town overall."

Gus Robinson representatives and they, as well as council officials were at last night's meeting, attended by in excess of 200 people and two councillors. The development has the support of the Further Education College and Cameron's Brewery.

Council members have requested more information on the plans before voting on the proposal.

I think all of the discussion is open now. I'm posting all the updates on the Bunker main forum and the campaign page. If you want any updates hot of the press then you can always be added to the MHAAG contact list which is not just for fans or MHAAG members. Email me at mhaag@hotmail.co.uk

Yes but the password was only going to be given to those who are known to everyone, to avoid the risk of "outsiders" getting information that they werent privileged to. Nobody knows me, so therefore, I doubt I would have been given the password even if I had asked.

Thanks for the smileys, calling someone you dont even know, what a big man !!

As a long participating member of the elite, with my season ticket I got a free signed photo of Richie Humphreys and a night in the causeway with chip fireball.

What happens to those in the members of two boards elite? Do they need to swap sides at half time sctatchinghead

Oh and Mr Poolie1996, I was sent the password by someone on here that I don't know, I'd only recognise 4 bunkerites in real life and of them I only talk to one of them on a regular basis, so it isn't about a clique or an elite it was kept private to allow things to be discussed without giving Ammo to the opposition and it makes a lot of sense to me.

The other option would have been loads of private messages, emails and even more accusations of a clique being formed.

Some people are just way too paranoid, I think just to make them feel better there should be a paranoid posters secret forum where they can moan people are talking about them.

I dont know who anyone on here is. I have seen the various photos that are posted & I do recognise some of the faces, but I have no idea what their names are on here. I recognise Fetish_Bob thanks to his work with the fire brigade & his season ticket work that he did last year & this. Other than those few, I wouldnt know any of you if I walked past you in the street or was stood next to you at a home game.

I accept that the campaign was kept private to stop the opposition finding out what was going on, but when it was set up, a few people said they wont send the password to anyone that they didnt know, so I didnt bother requesting it as no-one knows me, so assumed that no-one would tell me what it was.

You've been on the Bunker a year, they'd have given you it (and probably still will)

As for 'I recognise Fetish_Bob thanks to his work with the fire brigade'.

You must have him mistaken!

I'm sure that the password was handed out by Moderators to those who had been here a while and the only people who were excluded were those who were totally new, known to be trouble and who didn't ask for it.

You're not missing much though, Bob has stopped posting the redtube version of his ABC game, all of the free Greggs pasty vouchers have been taken and the decision about who gets the best seats in the new stand have already been taken.

I'm not offended I wouldn't pick myself for a bunker 5 a side team if there was only 4 of us and it had been my idea.
