I think the memory of Arthur Wharton is well worth respecting but that, and this- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neNQIb3o ... ure=relmfu are just bizarre. Towards the end he claims to have got up one morning to discover a grinning Wharton in his house. How does that, or repeatedly putting crap songs on Youtube help anyone to learn about Wharton?

A quick look at this tells you much more but I suppose it doesn't feed anybody's ego.

Seems to think that Arthur Wharton was more associated with Preston North End than the football club formerly known as Darlington FC.

I thought he sang 'Nashville hero' and was expecting a country tribute next. Seriously though, how does exposing innocent Youtubers to songs as bad as these honour the memory of the man who became England's first black professional footballer with Preston North End? And set a world 100m record? Oh, and played as an amateur for the now dead football club called Darlington FC before leaving to make his name at Preston North End.

Cripes.....that was downright awful, maybe if they changed the line......"Arthur Wharton, pling, pluck, kerwang, diddly,.... played for darlo", ............to "Arthur Wharton, pling, pluck, kerwang, diddly,........was shagging half the women in Norton", .......it would have more zing. bbolt
