hopefully he'll explode with rage and die instantly

I'd then like to visit his corpse in the funeral home...not to pay my respects....just to make sure he's definitely in there

the hopefully soon-to-be dead wanker

MK1 is one of the posters I am certain has at least two or three other names. I reckon he'd fit in on the bunker though, he can't debate he makes his sniping, bitter, bile filled point and then when someone responds to him he simply twists their words and resorts to playground-esque name calling.

Not only is he an angry, sad and lonely individual but he also is about as bright as the average reflection on a wooden spoon. To be honest there aren't many people on there whose opinions I could respect, mainly because there are probably only one or two of them who understand that the world wouldn't work very well if everyone had the same view on everything.

What is amusing is that despite hating football, and the club over there the most talked about topic appears to be the Mill House project, the tall ships races that happened almost two years ago so I'm not certain we can stop them now, and the hospital closure which was decided long before the campaigners and moaners started their drum banging because even the politically aware were too apathetic when it was first discussed.

I wonder if people on that site get up in the morning and think 'mmm too grey I'll stay in' but then on other days 'mmm too sunny, I'll stay in'.

He's just a very sad, bitter, twisted, old man, who clearly hates life.

I can't believe he could expend so much energy twisting about the loss to the town of 18 grand a year in rent. He clearly hasn't read the plans or he would know that the club couldn't ever sell the ground on, without first offering it back to the council for nothing . So in essence the council are foregoing £18k in rent, in return for IOR continuing to invest £1 million pounds a year, in something that brings visitors to the town, does valuable community work, and keeps a hell of a lot of kids, off the streets and involved in sport. Does he know how many kids teams Pools run, or how much coaching and other organised activity they do within the schools, colleges, and youth clubs ?

His posts are all just about him aren't they ? He feels unless the council is spending money on things he likes, then it's money wasted, and as he doesn't appear to like anything at all, then the council can't win.

Imagine going through life hating everything and spending all your time bleating ?

Hello again, just regarding the HTH site, I thought I'd fill you in a bit on how their forum works. (I know because I do post of there now and again, as I do on here sometimes, but i'm in no 'camp'). Basically, everyone (well practically everyone) on there pretty much either doesn't like the Mayor, doesn't like the council or both. Some people on there currently ARE or WERE on the council. Some are ex council, or wanna be council, or bitter old men who never quite made it politically.

I see it as being pretty much 3 or 4 camps on there.

There's a bunch of UKIP supporters, including one or two of the main UKIP people in Hartlepool.

There's a crowd that support the 'Putting Hartlepool First' party, and some Labour (including current councillors who use false names apparently, although a lot of them have apparently been told to stop posting on there).

There does seem to be some occasional support for the conservatives, but in all honestly there's a lot of UKIP and a fair bit of PHF (putting hartlepool first).

Whatever the situation, they all (or practically all) don't have a lot of time for Stuart D, hence the 'dumbo' tag and references to his days at the call centre etc.

Regarding the Mill House Deal, I'm cautious about it (as you will know from airing my views earlier on this board) but overall I support the deal if it's all thought through properly and if we have 100% assurance that the things being talked about will actually HAPPEN.

There is a lot of people on HTH who are very wary or suspicious (or both) with regard to the council, due to previous things that have happened over the years, where they feel the council has let the town down. (For example the soon to be closed hospital). That may be apparent mistakes made by past members of it, or current ones, (or both) in the opinion of some on that board.

There are obviously some strong opinions on HTH about the Mill House deal, as I suppose there are on here. There are also some people on there who just seem to like a good argument and also.. some dodgepots.

There are some Pools season ticket holders on HTH though, who just want to make sure the club doesn't get screwed over or sold a pup.

Most people on there, just like on here I guess, want what's best for the town. I guess there are just differences of opinions about what that actually is.

There is though, a lot of 'Eeyores' on there though. The kind of people who would find a way to complain if they won the lottery on the same day they got asked out on a date by fit girl who turned out to be a nympho.

There's a lot of people pretty politically aware though and for most I'd say, the objection or disapproval of the deal isn't so much anti-pools, it's down to decades (in some cases) of experiences of HBC not making the necessarily the best decision. (In the opinion of some of the HTH crowd, well, I say crowd, there's probably about 50 or so of them all in all).

The key to this deal going ahead, as you probably already know, hangs on the decision made by 2 or 3 key members of the Labour party. Well, that's what i think anyway.

VOD you have outlined what we most of us want but with most of us if the main points are meet give HUFC the ground and a skatepark for the kids.

I think (probably) what's annoying for the HTH crowd (amongst other things) is that there appears to be an organised campaign amongst this board and the pools fans generally to try to ensure this deal goes through.

Which is obviously commendable, i think, regardless of what your view is on the ground sale/transfer/whatever.

But they, (the HTH crowd) have been trying to get people interested in various things for some years (voting, campaigning against the hospital closure, better services such as buses etc.) but, by and large, no one really cares and the council, which is 30 odd people, voted in by about 27% of the town do what they like.

I appreciate the football grounds and pools is important to you/me/us, but i think the HTH lot get narked off by the fact that people will sit up and take notice over footy, but do little or nothing in terms of hospitals closing, bus cutbacks, libraries closing, schools closing, problem streets etc etc.

I know people might not agree with me on here, and that's fine, but i do kind of see their point a little that it's frustrating that people care about this (and remember i do too), but won't really sit up and take notice until the hospitals gone or something like that.

Also, just to give a bit of context with regards to money, this painting (below) owned by the council is worth somewhere around £2-2.5million, going by other sales.

http://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/news/lo ... -1-4674350

It's rarely in the town but very occasionally is hanging in Christ Church. What do you think would be better for the town? A painting loaned most of the time to London for free, or if HBC sold it to fund a top notch skatepark to kick of the project?

You make a good point VOR that most campaigns fail because Hartlepool people never work togeather for the good of the town. if its not to our advantage who gives a donald duck.
