I don't get the point of this poll. :?

I've voted for you like (no) but I don't see what you intend to learn from it as it's not really going to give you any idea of how many people will be turning up as it's not a large enough sample of interested parties? sctatchinghead

Calling people Elite because they are trying to secure the future of our football club. can see why darlo went down the drain if there fans thought the same.

It's just to get an idea the number of people who will be going. If we are trying to convince other people to go then it would be great if we can have a good turn out from Bunkerites.

If people can't go because of work/family or other commitments then that's perfectly understandable.

We all want more information about the plan and those involved in it so this the opportunity to get it.

Trolling and flaming or what ever you want to call it just doesn't help and I say that to everyone.

mr tree knows what he was doing by starting this thread n he knew it would cause divisions but he just loves it.

It should be deleted to stop chew.

Why would it cause divisions we are all pools fans that want OUR club to progress in the future at a higher level with luck.
It might be the time for some outside parties to see how many people care by turning up.
All i,m intrested in is doing what i can to make sure IOR stay at pools and if some people are willing to wait and see what happens that fine to. but just down the road at darlo there fans did not care and the rest is history.

So far out of 250 views(up until this post from me) there was only one post on it that resembled anything like chew.... and this was it

Yubep wrote:

So perhaps if you actually thought before you posted that post that it may cause "chew" none would have appeared. Some people you just can't work out.

the original poster only put this up to find out who isnt going n have a dig at them, that im sure of, he's already done on it on the other board over certain members of the board not attending.

Fine if i've caused the chew delete my posts n continue the thread in whatever way you like.

Mr tree put this poll up to see how many people off the bunker will be attending the meeting to get a rough idea of numbers.
that is what i think.

Thanks for the reply Kev.
Some people are just paranoid and some people just want to help the club progress.
I'll let people to make up their minds on this.

Fair enough, that's your prerogative.

Do you have any more substantial reasoning than "things are fine as they are" though?

Not attending (A career seemingly built around pointless 'meetings' has not helped my cynicism towards any of them), if there is anything posted on here that I can contribute toward I'll give it my best shot, but as passionate as I am about the town I have far too much work on at the minute, and in June, July, August I'm away from home more than I'm here.

My wife and I will both be coming - and we will be travelling from Darlington. Do we have a vested interest. Yes a) Because it is my football club and b) because I love the town I was brought up in and want it to prosper.

I will be crawling from Greatham, have got a ton of broken glass being spread in front of me and floggers at every half mile checkpoint, the g/f will then squeeze lemon juice in the cuts and just before entering the centenary lounge a shower in vinegar.

See you there ;)

Us and them?
Sorry but I don't know what you're getting at.
If it was us and them then surely we'd have kept the board to ourselves..... something similar to the "back bunker" which I'm not a member of.
The invitations go out, week after week asking people to join us at the meetings!!

"Back bunker" sounds suspiciously like back passage. Are you suggesting some people are secretly disappearing up their own arses? We need answers.

The problem is the "us and them" doesnt refer to those for the project and those against but those just for it but who can turn up and who cant.

what i cant understand about this poll is , if people simply voted and didnt bother discussing the need for it there would be none of the digs at other posters and it would still show if some bunker members were going to attend.

But....the poll doesn't actually show who is going...it shows the numbers of people on here who have looked at the post and voted it doesn't show poster X Y Z as voting no and A B C as voting yes. The only way others would know who was going or not is if they actually vote then post the way they have voted. So those who are going can't have a go at individuals. Or vice versa. Or have I missed something on polls.

Well I think you (Bob) might have missed something on polls, because if all you want to know is numbers going then it isn't really a poll and there shouldn't be a "no" option.
But of course the board polls don't allow just one option, so maybe a better alternative would have been "not concerned" so it doesn't actually look like a poll.
For example, much as I'd like to, I'm not going to fly 1000 miles to go to the meeting so my "no" isn't worth a light.

This isn't intended to be a criticism. For me you have every right to ask the board any question you want.

I posted that after day on drink and watching Mrs Browns boys, so may not have put it as intended. My point was not that a no option shouldn't be put, but by saying have I missed something on polls(all of them) I wouldn't know how say Yubep voted (unless I can look somewhere which is what I meant by missing something on polls) the only vote anyone knows is their own, so having a go a people , as individuals isn't possible. So others can't have a go at individuals for whatever option they voted on. Which is why I couldn't understand Yubep OP

I will try to have a look in if it's convenient. What yubep says is not invalid, though it's not helped by the fact that he and LT clearly don't like each other. There does seem to be a slight suggestion that not attending these meetings is connected to not caring (enough) about the football club, and we could do without such potentially divisive comments. I'm sure no Pools supporter is unappreciative of anyone doing anything to help the club.

There is no slight suggestion that people who don't attend the meetings dont care!!
Its a basic yes or no vote to try and determine who'll be going.
Ok, I could have just put a yes option but I haven't asked for names on who can't make it.
It's a straightforward poll.
The Centenary lounge has also been hired, partly because of the hope of greater numbers attending therefore it just seemed a good idea to have the poll to have some idea at least how many people off the bunker might attend.

"Its a basic yes or no vote to try and determine who'll be going"

Considering the voting is totally annoymous how do you know from the yes and no votes who will be going?

A few of you have got very elitest over certain people not attending over on the other board and this to me, just smacked of another attempt at that.

Pah!! A mere bagatelle........ :-D

All joking aside, it might be a good idea to put the personals aside seeing as we're a public forum. In the same way that we can read HTH, they can read this and the last thing we need is to give them an opportunity to say 'Look, they can't even agree amongst themselves.'

And they will.

The campaign board richo.

The bowls club has been asked about numbers. someone on facebook texted me today about numbers. i,m getting PMs off people on message boards about numbers all mr tree was doing was trying to gauge turn out.

fetish bob was called the elite awhile ago for his sterling work on the season ticket front. elvis and others have been called the same because they work for pools. now its the MHAAGs turn it looks like anyone that goes the extra mile for our club gets called an elitist well compared to you yubep i am.

If anyone wants to get involved they are more than welcome.
I might have had my ups and downs with a couple off here but to suggest there is an attempt to get at people because through a poll is just ridiculous. I'm sure there's easier ways to chew people than this way.
Seriously, its just a simple yes or no, we aren't asking for peoples reasons for not attending so I don't see what the problem is.
As i've said previoiusly, the Centenary lounge is booked and we want as many in there as possible.
Get along if you can, if not, join the facebook page or if there's any other ways you think you might be able to help then just let Phil or Kev know.
