The stand thats in the way is being rebuilt. Must be nearly 30 years old that stand, I remember sitting in it when Wolves ground was only open on 2 sides back in 86.

Steve Bull.....of all the players I have seen play against Pools he has to be up there with the best. My memory might be failing me but I think that season Wolves with Bull and Mutch up front and I am sure we played Sheffield Utd with Deane and Agana up front around that time but it could have been the cup. Good strike pairings there

not sure if it was the same year but Deane and Agana was definately in the league cup when it was played over 2 legs. We drew 2-2 at our place and lost in extra time at Bramhall Lane. I went to Bramhall Lane this year and sat in the seats behind the goal like everyone else, the last time I was there (circa 20 years ago), I was in exactly the same spot but on a terrace below the same stand

What a pairing they were by the way but still no where near as good as Bakes and Allon

I went last game of 86/87 season, got beat 4-1 only about 25 poolies there, only about 8 from Hartlepool, worst turnout considering opposition and the fact It was our first visit to Molineux. The Hartlepool lads were down in 2 cars and I cadged a lift to the station off them, we left 20 mins early just as Brian Honour scored a consolation goal, Wolves hoolies had us marked out for a good kicking and I honestly think we may of got it had we stayed to the end, wise move to leave, all of us were scared that day and there were a couple of radges with us, Chess you may of went season after when we got beat 2-0 as apart from us dont remember anyone else under 40 that day.

I was at that game back in 87, you are right Ronaldo the atmosphere was very intimidating. I stayed to the end but as soon as the final whistle went & their fans invaded the pitch we left as it was obvious they were coming for us. They got beaten off Aldershot over 2 legs in the play-off final. I am sure that was the 1st year we had play-offs. Wolves got promoted the following season.

Funny you should mention the Aldershot game cos I moved to Church Crookham, just outside Aldershot on the friday Wolves played in the playoffs. I remember the local press saying that the wolves fans had caused mayhem that night. Think they did the same to Torquay that season aswell, which was why Torquay banned away fans for a few years in the late 80's.

Wolves have admitted some seats in the new £18m Stan Cullis Stand will be taken off sale because half the Molineux pitch cannot be seen from them. "It's happened because they haven't gone ahead with the Steve Bull Stand redevelopment,
