He is certainly a highly decorated name at this level, I just hope if he signs he gets on a roll and shows a stroke of class, his arrival could put a real gloss on pre season.

He would certainly mix it up for us and if we sign him I reckon we'll win the Johnstones Paints Trophy, and that would be our Crown-ing glory

He should come for a trial before we sign him just to tester him out

I am struggling to stay positive over this one. I always felt paynter to be over rated and he had 1 very good season at swindon out of 3. Been very poor for goals over the last few seasons.

I don't get it.......where's the paint joke in that......in one brush stroke you've brought it back to a serious discussion.

I think matt will do to be honest

I would like to see Billy sign for Pools, it wasn't that long ago that he was doing very well at this level. I would expect that there are a few clubs sniffing around him mind.... I just hope that if he signs for Pools that he doesn't get sprayed too much.....

I'm worried that by bringing a paynter in Cooper is just hoping to paper over the cracks.

Cooper knows what he is doing - he won't want to end up with eggshell on his face...

I suppose a brush with the play offs and a cup run in the Johnsons Paint Trophy would add some varnish to next season, and the players would love to be decorated with medals in 12 months time.

Can i ask how your source knows it a big bloke who is 27 but doesnt know his name? If he maybe said late 20s or something i could understand it? Seems odd he has precise information on age and club and appearence but no name?

If we get Paynter I think Coops wants decorating.

No seriously, I heard this from my young 'un last Friday, think I mentioned it on another thread.

Would someone who's probably got accommodation around Leeds get a hotel in Hartlepool?

Mr verbalkint is also a well known wind-up!

By signing Billy we are showing intent to decorate our trophy cabinet, hopefully he's not much of a high roller in terms of wages and doesn't like to paint the town red too much.

Impressive coverage but I think Cooper is masking his real intentions- somebody from higher up the ladder but he's keeping his name under the dust sheet for now.
