Paul Murray and ryan noble were head and shoulders above everyone on the playing field last night. What ryan must think he's walked into must be awful. Only Murray wanted to actually pass the ball on te deck and look for movement that was never ever there apart from the extremely lively noble. The amount of times we go back over because liddle sweeney or monky make no options is a disgrace. All 3 want booting out of the team and made to watch that game over and over. Murray has to jink and turn 3 or 4 times looking for a pass that just never comes. The space between our midfield is just like watching amateur football. Our back four lumpers offer nothing in means of actually playing football. Horwood is caught out of position way too much and I can't believe cooper hasn't give Holden a chance. Austin has been good of late but gave us another reminder of his early season form. Collins for me was to blame for there goal, I thought he should have dealt with the free kick. Hartley looks good at times but when he needs to pass the ball, if Murray isn't there then he just can't play a pass over 30 yards.
Flinders kicking was of schoolboy standards and costs us pocession around 80% of the time. How a keeper can't kick is just wrong. Poole dosnt look fit, Sweeney just wants to run around. Liddle must be coopers bessie to keep his place and monky simply dosnt want to run at anybody anymore. Noble was outstanding, movement was of the highest quality, he held it up Well and was way too good for the way we played. Them 2 home games were two of the most boring Iv ever witnessed. We must improve All over the pitch. I'd be begging Paul Murray to sign another year if I was cooper. Without him I'm almost certain we would be bottom 6 or worse.

Bang on, this lad Noble will score goals at this level, I'm just not convinced he will with us as the service is shocking.

The lack of movement in front of him is the exact reason why Murray sometimes gets caught on the ball, because all his know how, his training, his natural instinct to complete a pass is telling him not to give it away, so he dwells, giving the opposition time to get a foot in.
Pass and move, find space when your team have the ball, close space down when the opposition have the ball are basic concepts which are drummed into you when you are young.
We seem to have forgotten this.
We are also obsessed with waiting for our full backs to trot up to take throw ins. We wait until everyone is closely marked before we decide to throw the ball into play. Quick throw ins are a no no at Pools and I'd love to know why.
Noble's movement was like a breath of fresh air last night and hopefully the rest of our players will wake up to it.
