was sat in the stand at VP, unable to get in the Scunny squad for their match against us over xmas. Today he played 90 mins in the scottish cup final in front of 50,000 fans, picked up a winners medal and could possibly be playing in Europe next season.

Many congrats Nelse but what does it tell you about the standard of scottish football :shock:

Take out Celtic & Rangers who are championship standard & the rest of the SPL is lower league 1 standard. If Celtic & Rangers did get into the premiership, they would be be relegated in the first season!!

Don't be too gushing in your plaudits cos he nearly, in typical Nelson fashion, fooked it up for everyone. Winning this cup is a massive deal to Kilmarnock who kept Celtic at bay for 80 odd minutes then grabbed the goal in the 86th. What does Nelson do, in the six yard box, in the 90 somethingth minute, sliding tackle from behind, nowhere near the ball and how a penalty wasn't given is beyond me. He doesn't think, never did and was why outside of League One looked rank bad. On another day Nelson would have spoiled the day for the fans and Killie with a stupid brainless challenge as we saw on many occasions towards the end of his Pools career.

Back of 'The People' today had Celtic applying to play in League 1, maybe as soon as next season if Portsmouth go belly up. :shock:

I too chuckled at that, in fact I didn't even know he'd gone to Kilmarnock. When I typed in a search, just to find out, I even spelt Kilmarnock wrong. :uhoh:
