That must surely be his last start for us?

Never ever seen a player so slow and as unable to control or pass a ball. Lost it so many times that eventually they would score from it and low and behold he lost it, we fouled trying to get it back and they score.

More beneficial to the opposition than to us.

Good result though.
They looked a quality side first half and happy with a point in the end.

If you think that it was a foul for the free kick they scored from, you want your eyes testing, the guy slipped and collided with our player.
I really can't stand MK DONS, cheating, diving whining the whole way through, don't get me started on the scouse get of a manager.

A good point though.

Yes let's all forget he scored for us in midweek!

I personally think it's a) wrong and b) ridiculous to single anyone out for criticism after such an honest and committed performance today. Humphreys gave the ball away a couple of times in poor areas first half, but his control and shot was pretty decent when only a brilliant save stopped us going two up. I don't think the bloke who earns £65,000 a week who played in midfield for them was any better.

Best comment of the day was a guy shouting "shite Humphries" after his shot was saved - the irony was lost on the usual critics around me

The first time he gave possession away was simply down to James Poole. Asi said in another thread I don't think he is anywhere near fit but he was out of position lots of the time, hence the bollocking from Murray half way through the first half.

The referee gave us fuck all all day as, they only had to fall over.

Plastic, horrible, cheating wankers in his ear all game and the useless fucker bought it.

Whilst it's true he came close to giving us what would have been a completely undeserved 2-0 lead I don't think it's unfair to say he had a poor game. On both occasions he gave the ball away they nearly, and many would say should have, scored.

When Baldwin came on we improved 100%, to be honest I've no idea why he was the one who got dropped after Tuesday night.

With the play offs looking beyond us, and our place safe, we should really be looking towards next season. Which means building a team around the young uns that will be here and giving them plenty of game time.

Phewf, thought i was watching a different game to the rest there.

Agreeing with you both. Baldwin is young, dynamic and provides excitement which is the total opposite of Humphreys. As chip says we should be looking towards the first game of 12/13 and if we give Baldwin three months to settle then I think we could have an exciting player on our hands.

I said it after last weeks trouncing, we need to look to next season. Baldwin should be starting the vast majority of the remaining 12 games on today's evidence, I'd personally like to see him get a go at centre back next to Hartley.

In the first half especially, I though Baldwin looked very ordinary against Bury, but he did look better than Humphreys. Match experience required and then we have a gem.

As has been said Baldwin looked very good the time he was on.

Fortunately for us, the only question is where, not if, will he play in the long-term. Cooper will presumably try him in both positions at least once between now and May.

Especially against the better teams. Lets face it, the old guard have bottled it time and time again.

I think if Humphreys is in midfield against the better teams we are in for a paggering. He has been a good servant has Humps but he is now not up to it. Obviously we'll play him when we are desperate through injuries, suspensions etc, but personnally I would put a kid in before him and certainly Baldwin before him.
We played Luke James against Sheff Utd and he did ok, so why can't we play youngsters against the so called "big teams". Give them a chance and lets see what they can do. Baldwin before humps every time now.
It's all about the future now and Humps as a player should not be in our plans.
Boydy is a candidate for that category as well I'm afraid.

In my opinion Humphs has not been up to this standard for quite a number of years, he has been a great servant to the club and it was good to see him reach 500. But he should step aside and fully focus on the coaching side. I'd much prefer to see baldwin play. Humphs just doesnt have the pace or fitness anymore and the same applys for Boydy.

My mate's 8 year old summed it up perfectly after about half an hour on Saturday, the conversation went;
Boy: "Dad, is this a reserve game?"
Dad: "No son, don't be silly."
Boy: "Well why is Humphreys playing then?"

There has been some rel shit posted about Ritchie Humphreys over the years and it is continuing now. Anyone with half a brain can see Humphreys is too slow against the better sides.

But like Chip said, he can stil do a job for us, when we have injuries, against the weaker/poorer sides. Hence he scored against Bury.

I am sure Coops will have it all worked out. So calm down ladies.

We actually pointed this out to the bairn after he'd said it, it was just the context and "out of the mouths of babes" etc that made it quite funny.

P.S. If he did play a few more reserve games when not in the first team he might be a bit sharper.

So basically he sees everything the fans see again? Great stuff! clappp

no he's on the bench and Humphreys starts - fucking unbelievable. I actually think he is managing this team - how else can this be explained?

Boyd on the bench and Nish dropped completely. I know they're out of favour but surely they should be considered over a finished midfielder up front?

I hope I'm wrong but I can't see much happening tonight.

not when he loses possession in the middle of the park yet again, but this time it finally leads to a goal. It's not harsh - it's fair criticism and he deserves to have his boots hung up for him if he won't do it himself. Best ever player for Pools? Do me a favour!!!

I don't hate the bloke.... but I know I'm right about him. He's finished, and that's not hatred. Read what it says and tell me I hate him. I hate the fact he gets a game, but that doesn't mean I hate the bloke!!!
Bizarre

I reiterate I have no gripe with the bloke cos I don't know him personally. I have a real problem that he gets a game at Pools when there have been people like Rowell released who could have developed into a really good player for us.... that is what is so soul destroying. If he plays we play with 10 men, and I don't care what anyone says about that cos it's the truth
