How much did you have to pay up front to see if you were entitled to a claim.

I sent a letter to the company I had the loan off asking or details of my loan and enclosed a cheque for £1. I received a letter detailing my loan and seen I had paid for ppi. I filled in a questionnaire an basically spouted bullshit about how I was told it was compulsory to take the ppi and wasn't given a choice. Sent that back, received a letter back after that asking for a copy of my passport, sent that back, 3 days later had a letter saying they owe me £953. I only paid 300 ppi in the first place.

I've done similar and put in a claim against 4 credit card companies. I cancelled the insurance when I could, but previous to that I was forced to pay it. Credit cards are paid off but it's not the point - get it back people if you have paid it unwillingly!!!

I had 3 other ways of repaying the money owed in the event of illness/unemployment or death - I did not need it in any shape or form

That is why I hope to nail these bastards!!!

I received £2691 last month but claims advisory who I went through are trying to rob me. I agreed that they could take 25% for doing it but they invoiced me for 39%. I told them that they will get 25 or nothing. They are threatening me with court proceedings. If anybody is claiming don't go through these bastards!

then let them - the terms and conditions of the contract should be clear enough. Have a look at the small print though, for any add ons they might try and have you over for

Im going to phone them tomorrow evening and hopefully resolve the issue. 25% is £675 so it's still a large sum for them. If anybody has had a loan or credit card they should Definately try and claim. The cheque I received was for a loan taken in 1999 so claims don't have to be recent

I got a random call a month ago saying I was entitled to a rebate for miss sold ppi then they wanted to take £150 at the end of the call. Obviously I declined...... I have since thought about it and I wish had paid it as they said I was guaranteed a sum! ...I can't do it myself like Chrissy stevo because I don't remember who I was mis sold ppi off sctatchinghead . Has anyone else let a company deal with it for them? Can you recommend anyone I can use...I might as well have it if it's mine .

Most companies should do it on a no win - no fee basis with their fee ranging anywhere between 20% and 50%. Basically if you have paid ppi whether it be on a loan, credit card or mortgage you should be able to get it back with ease as the vast majority of policies were mis-sold.

As far as I know all you need to know is who you lent money off and roughly what year the finance was taken. Apparently ppi is often added without the customer being told so it is worth investigating all finance you've had in the last 12 or so years.

Even if you asked for the ppi to be added and you weren't made aware that you could possibly get a cheaper deal elsewhere I think it is classed as a mis-sell....

Not but im over £900 up, so I'm happy enough.

As Jonny says miss sold can be for a number of reasons, it's not fraud I just pointed out that I wasnt made aware of all of the facts. They investigated the claim and decided it was a legitimate claim.

the biggest fraud committed in this country in the past ten years has occurred within the banking system!!!

Just thought I'd point that out

Can you claim off them compensation for loss of enjoyment?

All this extra ppi you had too pay probably made you a little short in the pocket over the years, n not able to fully enjoy the delights of places such as the wesley n 42.

Sppose I could mention it like the some weeks I could only make it out for the FRiday and Saturday and had to miss 70's night because of the ppi.

Looks like I've typed that with an oven glove on but can't be arsed to change it.

Yes because the PPI was sold as insurance and they got paid by the bank. The bank persued you for the balance of the loan. You're still entitled to claim.

Exactly right - the banks should have been forced to coff up the billions they charged customers when they went a couple of pence overdrawn. £30+ a pop in some cases - nothing short of a disgrace.

I think this is correct to an extent but defaults can cause complications. If you have been bankrupt or are in any sort of debt management plan connected to that piece of finance then it is likely that any windfall will be all but snaaffled and very little if any will find its way to your pocket....

I got a letter off them on Thursday saying they were dealing with my request and I should hear within 8 weeks. 2 days later I had a letter telling me I'd won my claim.

Just called the bank I used to have the loan with.. was with bank called HFC.. They got fined big style in 2008 about PPI and alot of the reviews online saying claimants have been very successfull... Stated my claim over the phone, they confirmed I paid PPI and they are sending me out a letter with a questionnaire.. I send that back and should hear within 8-12 weeks... So fingers crossed!
