Prove his worth to the team ...

I'd have liked to have seen him prove it a bit more often this season, but hopefully that will give him a bit of much needed confidence going into the rest of the season.

Hopefully it will see him begin a run of goal scoring form. Positives from listening to Ivan Ashe is that it sounded like we went there and had a go rather than freezing like we have in the past.

It was a cracking opportunist goal from Sweeney.
What struck me today was the fact that we didn't lay down after going behind. Our players today weren't overawed and believed that they were going to get something out of the game.
Very satisfying.

The best thing about sky+ is being able to forward through the drivel and watch Sweens goal a dozen times, just superb clappp

it sounds like the team definitely went through a rite of passage today in not giving in. The first thing you have to do for 90 minutes is never buckle under the pressure at any time.
This is what gives SWFC et al the whip hand in their own back yard. Teams of smaller stature generally don't stand up very well to the pressure

What never helps the cause is that refs and linos are usually the first ones to buckle. Sounds like they didn't either

When the away team and the officials stand up to it all, then we get a fair game of football, and then only football decides who wins it - not the crowd
