Just been on Radio Cleveland, or whatever its aclled now. Craig Liddle and ALL their players sacked. That really does sound like the end.

All Loid playing staff and management have been made redundant by the administrators, but apparently the 'core' of the club still exists. That'll be so that they can still sell the place for the land.

With no players or management, they'll now have to resign from the Blue Square Premier at the very least.

Because they can ask the players to play for just a match fee, on a pay-per-play basis, just for that game. Bizarre!

I spoke to Arno a few times when he was playing for us, he seems a decent lad. Lovely time of year to lose your job, especially when it's the incompetence of the past that has caught up to them.

gutted for arno and the rest of the players of Darlo. being made redundant cant be nice at any profession. These are geniune human beings at the end of the day and have families to support. Shows how money controlling the top leaves clubs lower down little hope. Granted our friend mr reynolds helped crucify Darlo.

His hair has gone the way of Darlo & has almost disappeared. He's sporting the bald PE teacher look these days & is still at Whitley Bay High School. Wonder if there's an opening there for Craig Lidds.

As for Darlo. There is no core to the club anymore. The adminstrators & 3 staff. That's it.

The reason for this is basically from now on the administrator's own company is liable for any operating losses - presumably this is to cut costs to the absolute bare minimum to give those trying to save them an extra day or two. It really does look like the end for them though, and the problem for them now is that they're fighting like ferrets in a sack - this looks more likely to be a Scarborough type situation than a Chester or Wimbledon one. Unless they can unite behind one phoenix club they'll just fizzle with a side in the Unibond at best.

Anyone reckon we need to start stoking things up with Gateshead? They might still have enough lingering animosity about the reelection decision way back when to get some sort of decent rivalry going....

Seriously, what other game got the adrenaline flowing like a Darlo game?
If League One is full of little clubs then why would we not want Darlo in there? A guaranteed big match atmosphere and it generates tension and passion like no other opponent we have ever played.

Darlo or Stevenage? Darlo or Walsall? I could labour the point, but we are now another Carlisle. No real rivals and no game to fire us up if we are having a shit season

Darlo away in 07 was one of the best atmosphere's ive ever experienced, such a shame to see them go out of business

I had intended to that game in 2007 when we won 3-0, so I was a bit disappointed when they moved it to a Sunday 1pm kick off.

Now Darlo are on the brink, I'm a little annoyed that I couldn't go.
