my Betamax is still going strong, even if the choice of rentals is a bit , er,.... limited.

I have got a Panasonic one, I wouldn't have bothered but when I bought my telly there was an offer on to buy a dvd recorder and an MP3 player for £100.

divx is a type of file which can be downloaded off shareaza, piratebay etc.. they then have to be decoded and made into normal playable dvds..

if you have a divx player you just put the whole film straight onto a disc (sometimes 6 films on a disc) and watch it.

anyway whats putting me off buying the dear stuff is half the time they dont play all formats, like no6 bus said the asda ones usually play anything..

betamax videos brings back memorys remember when we had one of those and me dad wouldnt let me get 18 films rage bloody spoil sport

Go to http://www.divx.com/ and check that out as well Timmy, you can also convert your existing DVD's to Divx as well
