not a bad mid field

phewwwwwww
i think john deehan had done his home work on us and we were stifled tonight
they were first to the ball every time especially first half and Forrester ran the show he was a class apart
we did not get chance to play our passing game and when we tried we failed miserably early on

but a point is a point and you have to carry some luck when you are going to win owt

Good post John, some salient points made. But should Nelson and Humphreys be ASHAMED of their performances?

In 29 years of waching Pools, that is THE worst display from two Pools players. They should be ASHAMED. rage

Lincolns 'gameplan' worked till they began to run out of steam in the second half when to be honest we started to batter them and how we failed to score I don't know. We actually helped them to hold out for so long by our static play and not spacing out and giving them more work and ground to cover with their tight marking game.
Good side...? they were fast and they were firm, but this wes spoilt by their 'professional ' tactics and the almost continual niggling little moves and actions off the ball, which the ref simply failed to see.
Their style of playl eaves them vulnerable and if we'd scored even 10 minutes earlier I think we would have won and that's a prediction I rarely make...
I came out the ground feeling like we'd won and not just drawn.

i liked their play and the approach work to the goal was excellent.

simple first time stuff, lots on one-twos, and almost fifa98 style passing going on - ie when they got the ball outside it was hit sideways without even looking as they expected their pace to have playes there or there abouts.

however, it was their non play and spoiling tactics that annoyed me and eventually were their undoing.

bringing foley on unsettled them a touch intially but he was soon marked out of the game by the bloke on the ladders - how much of a height diff - not at forresters level yet is he - saying that subwise bullock did nowt wrong and even ali gibb pumped cross after cross into the danger zone.

my only criticism is humphries -he does not have to take every free kick - they all know about him now and liddle still has one sweet shot and MUST be considered again.

Barron looked tired as though he hadnt recovered fully - and to be honest the only difference between the game and others is that lincoln were good enough to pick up on our defensive and midfield lapses whereas other teams just aren't.

an exciting night and really good to see the millhouse totally erupt when the pen went in.

Still it's us walsall and stockport for me to go up automatically.

now coffee, coffee and coffee and a weekend at work not watching or worrying about any other results but i predict

Barnet v Stockport - D
Boston Utd v Bristol Rovers -A
Hereford v Grimsby - H -
Macclesfield v Shrewsbury H
Notts County v Mansfield H
Peterborough v Milton Keynes Dons H - posh on a run - strachan pulling strings -dogs to stuggle midweek too.
Rochdale v Darlington - H - banker
Swindon v Accrington Stanley - H - alas
Torquay v Wycombe - H - torquay to be rejuvenated by accrington's cock up and go for wrexham and kick lleewlwllwlwlyn welsh star out of the league..
Walsall v Chester - A - chester's last away win of the season - watch them fall after this

So true Katcha. Its like he has to take every free kick or corner cause he's the captain and he's scored some free kicks. Some of the free kicks would have been far better with a right footed players taking them and Liddle should definitely be having a share of them.

I have never seen another team come to the Vic and work as hard off the ball as they do with it, we were closed down so quickly for just about all of the game

got to agree, when Gibb was on the pitch, why not let him take the corners on his side at least.... he does have the ability to put over a decent ball and it saves Humphries getting dragged out of position.
