This firm are totally Bollocks what a waste of space. If you have the new TV drive Box(like Sky+) you will know what i mean. Got the repair bloke out to day and he told me, my box is fine its just the have a software problem with the whole drive system.

Now i have had this problem since i got and it just getting worse but i still paying full price for the package. so i phoned them up today to demand some sort of refund and surprise surprise there systems have gone down. Waiting for them to get back in touch with me now.

Dont got to virgin media stick with Sky and bt refred refred

I have been with NTL for 6 years or so and have never had any problems. Mr H how much extra do you pay for that TV Drive thingy, I was thinking about getting it, but maybe i won't after your experience.

NTL are the biggest pisstakers of all. They demanded to speak to my terminally ill grandmother to confirm she was no longer in her own home, just so I could get the phone line disconnected. The fact that she could hardly talk and the fact I threatened to drive all the way down to Coventry to personally strangle the prick on the other end of the phone made no difference.
They kept sending more bills (which just had line rental and no phone calls, obviously because she wasn't living there),and threatening letters for recovering payment, even after they agreed over the phone that they would disconnect the phone line.
I will NEVER use NTL again for ANYTHING. I would rather live in a tent with no contact with the outside world than use those wanking bastard fuckfaced not nice people again.
And Mr C is correct, the phone call I made lasted over 45 minutes rage rage rage rage rage

ntl are expensive but offer new deals for new customers of £30 for tv phone and 2m bband - they are nazis though and i dont like em but still stay with them due to stability and reliablility of cable bband.

An insider tells me that virgin media are to blow the lid off bband and they will be offering big speeds (although the same as all other ISP's are able to do)at low prices - initially - remember that comcast was cheap to start with

saying all of this though next month i am going to sit down and sort ntl out and get a big reduction in my bill as we pay about the same as you phil and hardly use it

I was on Cable for a while (Telewest over here, but it's all the same now)and didn't really have much trouble - however I was more fortunate than many. When we moved house, we were in a brand new one and you tend to find that they don't have Cable available as there's no money left for them to run new cables in - they agreed that as they could provide no service to the new addy, we could break our in theory six months to run contract with no penalty. We were on BT and had no real issues, but we went with TalkTalk when they started doing the broadband offer. Again, maybe we've been lucky - but we've had no trouble with them other than a bit of a wait for the broadband to go live, and we're paying less for it all than we did to BT just for the internet.

Still not as cheap or good as Kev's deal, but I don't really want to relocate that far just to get a censored net connection.....

To be honest they only censor out the filth anyway and most people can live without that. They block BBC newspages but not the newspapers and I listen to BBC radio quite a lot It's odd things like 'William Shakespeare images' on google and as I said Wikipaedia for some reason. I don't encounter it every day and when I do it's surprising not frustrating. It hasn't made any difference at all to me. I guess it all depends what you're trying to do.

at the moment i get bills stating " thank you for paying this bill by direct debit " on the front, but on the back charging me a £5 surcharge for NOT paying by direct debit. they have been doing this for a few months. i cant be arsed to spend my lunchbreak ringing them. gonna gve it another couple of months then take them to court.

The same has been happening to me for the last 4 or 5 months since I restarted paying by DD, so each month I ring them to tell them the error of their ways, and to also point out they are still charging me 3.50 for 2 other services (3 way calling and caller display) that I didn't want anymore. They keep reducing my bill, but make the same mistake again. Last month the lad I spoke too credited double the amounts, so that I wouldn't need to call again this month. He has obviously got a lot of confidence in their systems stupid

Good NTL BB costs £17.99, which is what we have at home - and a full Sky package with Sports costs £49 a month. Get the cheapest phone line and you'll only be spending £80 a month if you want all three

My 4 Mb BB was £25 per month drom NTL
I rang up, told them that I was cancelling, to transfer to Sky
(I'd already transferred the phone from NTL to BT in readiness)

They offered to half the BB cost, so I pushed it a bit and said make it a tenner. So they did, for six months, to be reviewed in May

I only have an NTL line in my house, the BT one is dead and would cost £125 to make it useable again, not really worth it.

So this means NTL is the only company I can get, and that's shit. and NTL sure as hell know it, they stand outside my house everyday taunting me, with a Desperate Dan bar.

You know who you are!

I find NTL ok, broadband and the base tele package for 20 quid a month. If I ever want the sports adding on, I can just ring them up. Piece of piss.
