I thought the atmosphere was excellent throughout tonight. The hard work on the pitch was thoroughly appreciated by all who saw it.

Think I made a good investment tonight, 5 midweek games for £60. Along with 2 free tickets from work for the Southampton match. Just got to work out how to pay the money back that I borrowed today now!

Excellent atmosphere created by us true fans!!

Not sure if it happened anywhere else in ground tonight but season ticket holders in CK were being asked for thrie books - I was asked at the turnstile then by a steward once I was in - this steward was very obnoxious - ok you already got my money so ypu can traet me as badly as you want - the ticket deal at the moment is cheaper than season tickets - makes me wonder why I get one - club will be asking next season why season ticket sales are down - ITS COS OF HOW WE'RE TREATED!!!!! refred

agree Scooby my 16 son who came in a few people behind me was stopped by a "steward" and told he couldnt come in because he had no ID. I was fuming went back and confronted him told him he was with me and asked what the problem was. If I hadnt been there he wouldnt have got in, it makes my blood boil that true supporters who go every week in all weather are interrogated and told that they couldnt come in with their own season ticket because they had no ID. Not the only one complaining either, two women who I know are season ticket holders locked outside for 15 minutes because they only had the ticket and not the book. Totally out of order and I for one will complain tomorrow!!

The rules are pretty clear, season ticket holders need to present their book, not just a ticket and people with concession tickets need to provide I.D. along with their tickets.

Not rocket science, is it?

Concurring about the atmosphere.
Laregly inspired by a great performance.

AC .v. Spurs - who gives a fook.

Concurring with Mister B re: the season tickets. Rules are clear & the lad on the turnstile I go in always checks ID on any concessions.

Some of the stewards can be a bit heavy handed but some fans clearly ignore the rules. It cuts both ways.

As for tickets. Yes they're too expensive & if I wasn't working I couldn't get to many games.

Pools need to drop season ticket prices & have special deals throughout the season for those who can't afford season tickets.

Category A, B & C games might be worth a try too.

These are however, STILL, halycon days at Pools. Top half. We've beaten 5 of the top 7 & are holding our own against several bigger clubs.

The crowd should have been over 3k for a game like Charlton not nearer 2k.

Hopefully the Saint's game will see a few more turn out . We never seem to get a decent crowd against Franchise.

I can only speak as I find and all three of us were checked last night and the steward was very civil. He explained what they were doing and thanked me for letting him see my ticket.
Mind you everything was in order. We tore the ticket out in front of the turnstile operator, as we usually do. Two of us are concessions, one over sixty and one student, and were able to produce our I D's.
Apparently there are those amongst the fraternity who are cheating the club and a number have been caught.

There was a warning on the official site a few weeks ago that stewards would be checking tickets. Whilst there is no call for stewards to be over-officious, neither is there any need for them to be abused for doing what they are paid to do & have been instructed by the club to do.

The price of tickets is a separate matter for debate, but the checks can only be due to some people stealing money from the club by not paying the relevant going rate.

Gutted that I couldn't get there doesn't begin to sum it up.

If we turn in similar performances in the next 2 I think I shall forgive myself though. (Can we talk about the play off places again yet?).

We are going to need around 11 wins from 17 games to have any chance of the playoffs. Highly unlikely in my opinion

Just looking at the fixtures we have left we seem to have a decent run of games against teams above or around us, winning those drags us up the table much quicker than beating the bottom 4 would.

I am planning a day out at Charlton anyway, hopefully to nick 6th place off them

I sort of agree with you, but why is it unlikey? We have just beaten Charlton who were on a great run.

Why cant we beat the others?

When we win the next 2 home games we will have beaten all of the top 8 teams.

There is only our own lack of belief, that can stop us winning enough games, to at least keep challenging right up to the last match.

I really don't see the problem with presenting your season ticket book, I normally rip the ticket out at the gate anyway. It's a shame apparently some have been trying to gain access with dodgy or invalid tickets and the club feel they are forced to do this.

I don't know about you but I get a season ticket because I want to support my towns football club, people taking the piss trying to get in for nothing aren't supporting the club are they?

Yep. I know of people who've used kids season tickets to get in when they should've been paying full price on the gate. This "double check" is the only way to ensure that the people on the gate give enough of a shit to challenge the person presenting the season ticket otherwise they think that it's just easier to let them in.

It is a shame that the club have had to do this but hopefully a short period of having to do it will be enough to put an end to it.

Exactly.
Too many foooking freebies as it is without people trying to con their way in.
The thing is if people paid their money at the gate and we had regular crowds of 4000 I'm sure we'd have a much stronger team because IOR would give the manager the cash to spend if he realised the towns folk were behind the team.

And there's a big foooking difference between using a kids season ticket which may have only cost £50 and an Adult one at £350!!!!

interesting point about season ticket holders paying more.

i got the midweek and saturday specials, so i got 5 midweek seating tickets for £70 and 3 saturdays for £45.

i dont get discounts for any other games so my outlay would be 15 x £20, plus the £115. that makes £415 in total or £18.04 per game. no idea what the season ticket cost was.

£350 most expensive.

So going by Mr F's figures then the current offer doesn't work out cheaper than getting a season ticket then does it.

You better ask Groovy that. He offered me the option because he needed a carer, I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth and refuse am I?
I've had a full price season ticket for something like 9 of the last 12 seasons, I'm the least likely person to con the club.
I might be a tight arse but I'd never con the club.
Plus, I probably spend about £150 a year in the club shop on meself and presents.
Big big difference then between me going £175 each with groovy and someone trying to con their way in on a kids £50 ticket.
Anyone who knows me will admit if it wasn't for the deal with groovy I'd pay my £20 in. No problem at all.

It would help if the club actually sent out I.D when you have taken the effort to get one sorted.

It's all legal.
I'm a carer.
Anyway anyone who tries to get into the match on a £50 ticket wants their balls burning off.
Mind it's not as bad as the bounders who don't support the team at all!!

Maybe if you went to more than 2 games a season you would be able to answer your own question...? As it doesn't sound like you witnessed the stewards behaviour maybe you should keep it zipped....? And do you really need to keep mentioning people's real names...?

I have started agreeing with Lightning tree lately but this arguement reminds me of the time he called me a Killer and a monster for going shooting (but eating everything I have ever shot) but still has yet to answer me the question if he has ever bought 3 chickens for a tenner in tesco.

I think I've mentioned before I don't shop in Tescos, the food is shit.
So there is the answer to your question.

So if any of you on here were offered free tickets you would refuse them?

Of course you would.

I would rather have ten Lightning trees than 10 moaning bastards that boo the players during the game.

I refuse to believe you have never eaten a battery reared chicken in your life. So there is the answer to my question

Ok before I react in kind, let me get the facts straight here.

Lightning tree gets into the groind as a carer? Quite legally?
Lightning tree complains about people getting in on other peoples consession tickets? Which is illegal?

You then accuse Lightning tree of being like them. i.e. illiegal?

Am I right so far?

Is so, then I think I am quite sane. Oh, and quite correct too. As usual.
