With local authority budgets being drastically cut I don't think there will be many resources to police this effectively.

The fees for the badges are going up from £2 to £10 and this is going to be used to police it apparently.

All disabilities are not physically aparent, my mate has only one leg and with his aid looks as though he walks normally

Then they rush straight into the nearest disabled toilet to change a leaking colostomy bag but because their disability is not obvious to you its amazing ?
When people apply for a blue badge they have explained themselves to a doctor & do not need to explain themselves to you.

By all means check the ID & prosecute those who use someone elses badge,or treat disabled parking bays as waiting areas etc,but dont judge those who have a badge just because their problem is not obvious.

Absolutely & Im sure nobody disagrees with you,as I said, check the ID & prosecute those who use someone elses badge without a valid reson

But a statement as general as this one
Quote:
It always amazes me when the car pulls into a disabled bay and displays the blue badge, yet healthy ppl without the need of sticks or wheelchairs, proceed into Asda.

sounds as though it is dismissing unseen disabilities which is something that really pisses me off.

If you look at your post you can see how it reads to a casual observer, especially when there are a lot of people out there judging those with unseen disabilities.

Hopefully authorities will start tackling abuse of the blue badge scheme,as its because of those abusing it that people in general are sceptical of unseen disabilities
