Go on yell.com, get a few numbers, ring for a quote and see who's cheapest. They all have set prices and will take you about five minutes.

I hired one for 24 hours the other week and it cost me £52, was a decent sized van but £6 of that was for a fcking DVLA check because I didn't have the counterpart of my license. I didn't lower the excess either as I wasn't doing many miles so took the risk. Some companies offer 4 hour hire if you only need it for a bit.
