Dominated throughout, Sweeney's goal was a pearler, and the groundwork that went into the second goal was phenomenal.

Brackstone's challenge was too late - from whenre I was standing in the Town End, I wasn't shocked.

Boston are a dirty team, and showed nothing. I don't tihnk they deserved their goal, but a win is a win.

Boland made a great debut, and Liddle's work at the back was excellent. Nelson also fully deserved Man of the Match.

That is all.

But what do you reckon about Clark????

Has he been deserved to be dropped for someone that is a 'versatile' player???? :? :?

Serious question!!!! :sweet:

bloody hell, you are easily pleased. were we at the same game. dunno about dominated throughout. they hit the bar and missed an open goal in the first half. boland was average, great pass for the second goal, but his distribution in the first half was shocking. seemed to be trying too hard. wasnt massively impressed by liddle either. had a very shaky first half. robson and brackstone were both poor, effion was anonymous, and brown will have to toughen up a lot if hes to make it in this division.

i thought we played much better against swindon who were a decent side. lets face it boston were absolutely crap. a good result tonight, but an average performance.

But we got the result - no need to be fo fookin ((C)adg) negative, it's a start

Chip mate, think about it this way: Boston are a typecast League Two team. We didn't seem to put in amazing amounts of effort but there were glimpses of top-form Pools, particularly new-boy Boland's through-ball.

If we can look so comfortable with teams like that, just think how we'll do during the rest of the season...

And I read on Ceefax that Ben Clark was starting tonight, Mutley; but Liddle seemed calm enough under pressure.

Agreed about Eifion, Brackstone and Robson though; they were anonymous, but not in a detrimental way. Better than being infamous really.

a win is a win but i dont think we had it as easy as some seem to think
they were fast in the counter and it was backs to the wall at times for us
Boland did make a difference but it was only when the second goal went in that we dominated
Braka wants his butt kicked for that challenge plain stupid

May I remind the audience that in our play-off final season we also edged games against teams we ought to have tonked, and in the end we even started losing against them.
Gertrude Stein was right. Win is a win is a win is a win.

Yes a win is a win and by god how we needed one but I have to agree with some of the posts for what its worth this is my opinion on last nights players:

Dimi Decent keeper but has he got a footballing brain how many times does he pump it field to no one even before we were down to 10 ?
D Williams One of our best players of the season so far why has it took him so long?
Liddle Bit of a shakey start but settled down well fingers crossed could do well
Nelson Does the hard things well but his distrobution needs working on worthy captain
Brackstone Needs to settle down quickly the endless up the line punts were getting us no where and that challenge was stupid and it was a straight red! I think he got carried away with the crowd!
Effion Was invisible nothing went down the right feel sorry for him always 100% but not with it at the minute.
Sweeney Had his best game for quite a while 4-4-2 gives him the freedom of those surging runs were 4-3-3 has him locked in the middle
Boland Steady debut no more no less too early the jury is still out
Robson How long do we give this lad is it his confidence or is it he is simply not good enough ?
James Brown (we seem to keep saying this every match) will have to toughen up in the rough and tumble of Div 4 football
Porter Still looks our best striker used to love those one on one lobs but ain't going for him at the minute he also got kicked to bits (again) last night
Maidens Did ok when he came on but still needs to get involved more
Daly Made us all eat humble pie last night obviously told to put his self about and match fire with fire and on this occasion it worked but I for one won't get carried away
Humphries Did his part but looks like certain sections of the crowd aren't going to give him any chance regardless of what he does.

We got the points and one or two briuses on the way but again we made it hard for our selves but hopefully this is the start onwards and upwards!!!!

the left hand side was pathetic until Humphreys came on and that's saying something!!!! Brackstone and Robson are not good enough END OF STORY.
