it's games like these when a team is on the back foot and yet the dominant side don't ram home the advantage, that by the end of the match the dominant team gets punished by a late equaliser for not putting the game to bed.

We've been that dominant side a few times and let teams off the hook..... Pools just have to hang in there and keep the score down to 1 until they can get a foothold. No team dominates for 90 minutes in this league, we'll have a spell on top....the difference is whether that spell comes when we've got a chance to get something out of it. In other words don't let another fu-cker in!!!

Happy to get to half time one down after a poor start. Still in it so I hope we concentrate on tightening up and are patient about getting a goal or two, when we've chased matches we've been battered.

Eddie kyle talking about donaldson he has seen him play a few times this season all in midfield not upfront on his own he thinks mick has got his positioning wrong, he likes to make runs and is better in the middle.

I'm gettin there Parmo. Especially as the guy brought in to solve our goalscoring problem doesn't sound like a natural goalscorer and we are continuing not to trouble any cows rear ends with a banjo.

Considering he's playing alone up front again its a bit unfair to suggest he's not the answer.

3 points off 4th bottom now - Swindon have equalised
Yeovil in good form and won't stay 4th bottom for much longer.
January has been a disaster and we need a win soon!!!!

What I don't understand is why we are persisting with Brown up front on his own? Clearly no good for Brown or the team plus why are we persisting with a player who can only play 60 minutes? I like Browny but it's clearly not working.

Adam Boyd must be worth one last go, with an ultimatum of this is your last chance, after that you can welcome to the board - after Pools its Non League for Boyd.

Not really unfair as he was brought in as a striker to play in the lone role that we have adopted so therefore he was brought in as the answer. Just like we brought in a keeper who knew how to save shots when we needed one, why did we bring in a midfielder to play alone upfront if what we lack is goals?
The lad was brought in to score goals and we haven't had a sniff. Not his fault, it's the situation that is shit not him that is shit.

Yeah, I know what you mean.
Did he actually know he was going to play the lone role.
I bet he's sick as fook.

Saturday is now a must-win game. The pressure is well and truly on, and the games look very tough coming up to say the least. How can it all go so badly wrong in the space of 6 games?

Cmon guys, we are relegation fodder. MW has thrown his dice and just not good enough, sad though it is.
Another 4-0 thrashing.............sorry Mick but you've been found out.
Not Mick's fault though..............he has tried the miracle............nearly succeeded.

Its getting a touch worrying.

Its bad enough not scoring goals, but now we seem to be conceding for fun as well.

Confidence must be brittle amongst those players. Infact it seems some of them need to grow some balls and get some stomach.

I have to say it's looking increasingly difficult to predict the bottom 4, and all dreams of the play offs for Pools have definitely ended tonight. It's sadly almost certain to be our 3rd relegation scrap in a row, there will be no comfortable mid table finish at this rate.
Only a win will do on Saturday

If we had won those 6 the top 2 would be looking over their shoulders.

This makes things look a lot better IMO.

http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D2/oform.html

Looking at the remaining fixtures I can see at least 8 winnable games, and a half dozen where we should manage draws. It looks bad losing again but it isn't all doom and gloom.

We desperately need to get one or two players hitting the back of the net again, the defence is out of sorts but has been generally good this year, the forwards should all look in the mirror tomorrow and wonder if they are worth whatever they are being paid to score goals, because even Mackay must be on at least £500 a week.

We've been relegation fodder since the start of the season.
The bookies had us down for certs but there's still plenty of points to play for its just where are the foooking goals going to come from!! Once we go one down now we seem to collapse.
We could do with someone like that Lloyd Owusu. A big dirty centre forward who isn't scared to mix it.

Don't want to seem over-optimistic but we are better off than I expected to be at this stage. The good run before Christmas didn't mean we were going up and the bad one in January doesn't mean we are going down. We get thrashed when we have to chase games and push up but we won't always have to chase so I still think we'll get to safety and I would have happily settled for that before the season started. Might not be comfortable though.

Its very diificult for defenders to keep keeping clean sheets when we just dont score at the other end. They know one mistake will result in us losing the match. Because at the moment if the opposition score we are going to lose.

Our away defence record now looks shit, and we are the lowest scorers as well.

at least swindon lost again, and plymouth. they are both behind us and we have 2 and 3 games in hand. Exeter lost and arent far ahead, Tranmere only drew with Rochdale and brentford are in free fall. And when you consider Walsall, Dagenham and Bristol Rovers, its far from disastrous. But these 4-0 defeats are embarrassing.

we need another O'Donovan - and a fully fit Brown up front. I get the feeling that confidence is being drained, because there's no belief amongst the players that there is anyone in the team capable of stepping up and scoring goals when the team is up against it.
