If we got nine consecutive days' snow evey winter you might have a point Groovy. I hear it snowed in Tenerife. The daft basturds didn't foresee the need for snow ploughs. The natives are up in arms.

I don't want you or anyone else wasting my taxes on something that causes an inconvience once every five years. I bet you could think of ten more worthy causes faster than you could pronounce them. :(

In this country we normally get a couple of days of pathetic snow in January or February, it's something we don't need to make massive provision for. People quote how they manage in countries like Canada, Norway etc etc.... but they get snow for months on end so they will be used to it and expecting it and therefore adapted for it... for us to do that would cost a fortune and just not worth the expense.
People will moan.

Just another Daily Mail stye rant. Someone has to be to blame for everything, even the weather.

They cleared 200,000 tonnes of snow from Gatwick airport yet got critisised cos the airport shut. I bet there would have been some moaning if a plane had tried to take off and crashed.

there is a competition held when it first snows on mount teide to see who can build a snowman on their car and get the furthest down to the coast before it melts.
