And talking of penalties for incidents outside the box....the referee for Tranmere is none other than....Gary Sutton!

Who refereed us in our 3-3 draw with Stockport a few seasons back.

It's obvious some of them "get off" on making controversial decisions........they're the one's who should be binned early on in their careers.

He could make up for it give both of us a penalty for (a) not giving them one and (b) giving one against us that wasn't.

Thats the trouble isnt it. Basic refereeing decisions do even themselves out. Basic cheating or incompetenec seem to follow us around. There is too much evidence for this not to be the case.

Cheating can only even itself out if all teams cheat. We don't seem to cheat as much as others by surrounding referees and linesmen so we won't get as many dodgy decisions.

We have had some incompetent decisions go our way. The pen at Swindon a couple of years ago springs to mind. There must be others.

Just been on FA site looking for some information and came across this, had to laugh at one of the practical sessions

http://www.thefa.com/GetIntoFootball/Re ... erence2009

quick copy and paste...........

David Elleray focused on ‘Vital judgements in the penalty area’ advising referees to remain alert, concentrate and ensure their decision is correct.

alert, concentrate, decision is correct what a joke.

Does it mention anything about what happens if you have a bet on a home win?
