Really dissapointed we didnt bring a striker in as i dont think the present batch are up to the job or inequiped
to cope with the demands of division 1 physicaly. I feel we could look back with regret towards the end of
the season.

Yes Browny is the answer but sadly i think he cannot be relied on to play an aceptable amount of games in a season.

last week the chairman said we were expecting a striker on trial in the programme, doesnt look as though that happened.

We do need one as well, we should treat any game Brown plays as a bonus as experience has shown he struggles badly with fitness.

I think the idea that Brown is injury prone is a bit of a myth, i think he's played neck end of a 130 games for us in the last 5 years which aint a bad record.

He hasn't struggled with fitness, he has struggled with injuries. As long as he can stay injury free there is no reason he can't play 46 league matches a season!

You are missing the point, the chairman said there was a striker going to be on trial, havent heard anything since.

If we can''t afford one on our budget then that is understandable, and I have no problem with it, but I expected a striker in on trial after reading the programme notes.

As for who could we get I don't know, but would hope Wadsworth and the clubs contacts would be a bit better than mine, I had never heard of Poole before he signed.

As for Brown, agree I should have said injuries and not fitness.

But if the guy is a regular starter (and he is) then we play about 50 games a season---250 games over 5 years, 150 games played means he has missed 2/5s of the time....not a good injury record.

... don't forget we need 30 plus goals a season out of him, entertaining football and a willingness to pat children on the head and generally be wonderful.

Fabian Brandy just go and get him as I said before on here he murdered us the day we played Hereford
We did come out with a victory that day, he was there best player that day and I checked up on him as I did not believe he was there's he wasn't he belonged to Man Utd
I can not believe he has not got a club sctatchinghead
He also went on loan to Gillingham following that spell scored on his debut and was star man

it does'nt work
I'm just highlighting the fact we are carrying a lot of deadwood and that a player like gordon watson is worth his weight in gold (or worth 6 mediocre players anyway).

Scored on his debut for Gillingham and man of the match, failed to score again in his other 6 matches.

Ex Man U, England under 16, 17, 18, 19 & 20 international, he would want more than we can afford to pay.

He has not got a job or a club at 21 year old he'd have to take what we could offer .......not that we will like I was just giving my suggestion to sir chip as he couldn't think of one that we could afford...... Although I don't know how he knows what we can afford

I'm not ........Sir Chip instructed people to suggest such a Striker as he could not think of one...... Young Fabian was my choice that I thought fitted the bill.
