21 is a good film enjoyed that, the hangover is a decent comedy, not a serious film and it wont change your life, but it has its funny moments, decent tea time film.

I watched clockwork orange last year, i just dont get it, maybe it's over my head but i thought it was an awful awful film.

I went to see Clockwork Orange when it was released, in a cinema in Ipswich, before it was banned, and thought it was a great film. Saw it a few years ago on TV, and gave up on it part of the way through, just bored with how ordinary it was. I couldn't cope with the fact that Malcolm McDowell was being re-conditioned by Michael Bates, as the Chief Guard, when all I could think of was him in Last of the Summer Wine and It Ain't Half Hot Mum.

one of my all time favourite films.

Most of the extra stuff in the directors cut is showing more of the time of leon and matilda together. Those are some of the best scenese in the fillum. Here in america most people have a problem with those scenese cause the assume (cause most of them are halfwits) that he is some kinda pheodophile. I think those scenes are the most touching in the fillum kinda shows he starvation for human contact. Its in my top 10 of all time fillums.

It was. Good filum though. Vincent Cassel, Viggo Mortensen and Naomi Watts is about as good a cast as you'll find at the moment.

One of the other BBC films over the weekend "Is Anybody There ?" was fantastic too - not comfortable watching at times, but genuinely funny as well.

Mut - saw the Book of Eli at the weekend and was well disappointed. Decent enough Mad Maxy type look to the film, but the plot is woeful. truely woeful. Also saw Inception last night and enjoyed it but thought it was disjointed - looked like a lot of scenes sewn together with a dubious dream plotline.

Sounding too negative about films here so finish on a high - er, watched the Departed again last week and really enjoyed that, one of those films that really stands several watchings.

Finally got around to watching Micmacs. It had mixed reviews, mainly it seems by snotty reviewers who say you can't treat a subject like the arms trade with such flippancy. I have two problems with that. First, is it really about the arms trade? Like most Jean-Pierre Jeunet filums its a fair bit less serious than that; he's always been one for style over substance, but in a good way if that's possible. Second, I grew up with the Childrens Film Foundation and Saturday morning pictures at the Odeon. I have little problem with gangs of armed smugglers, arms dealers and jewel thieves being knocked off their perch by kids on bikes with bits of wood and string.

Like a feature length episode of Hustle directed by Heath Robinson, with a little help from Nick Park. All of Jeunet's trademark visuals (Delicatessen, City of Lost Children, even Amelie) are present and correct. Recommended if you like your comedy a little offbeat and stylised, and French. If not then I'm sure Will Ferrell will have another filum out soon.

Childrens Film Foundation. Some classics there.

I thought Amelie was a great film. If these other films are in a similar vein then I may well have to check them out...

I watched Harry Brown last week. It stars Michael Caine as a geriatric vigilante. Although his performance was good I found it rather predictable and grim...
