I was thinking that with the money saved on Wilson's wages and now Turner and Green, plus the youth development gadgie, maybe the time is right to invest a bit of it on the loan of a half decent striker.
Maybe someone like Paul Heffernan or even Roy O'Donovan.
Just a thought like.

Tony Warner

Probably. I doubt MW will risk having a 16-year-old keeper on the bench for three months.

Have we broken our spare like?

why do we need to waste more money on a back up keeper? by the end of this season the money spent on rafferty and the previous number 2 cook might as well have been set fire to. if flinders does get injured a keeper will be signed straight away

I can see the logic in that statement but with a young inexperienced 'keeper on the bench, it's not an ideal situation if he has to come on at a difficult part of a game due to red card / injury for Flinders.

Blow the reserve keeper savew the money it is goals scored not goals conceded which will be our undoing.

I young enough to remember Graham Richardson at 17 playing a few blinders for Pools!

That's a good point, but it depends on how good this young lad is. If he's a hot prospect then fair enough, stick with him on the bench. If he's merely an average youth team keeper then it might not be so appealing.

just on a side note; my dad is Graham Richardson, the "young goal keeper" who had some "blinders" for pools, and was over the moon when i told him i found this post, so cheers ball to feet for making his day.

I remember Graham Richardson, very good keeper but I vaguely remember a dodgy moustache! Is that right? Has he still got it?
