Two draws, a win and a loss. I'd have taken that before the season started.
On current form we'd end up with 57 points over the season. Again, I'd take that now.

We beat a poor team, drew at home with a good 'un and drew away with a poor one.

That kind of suggests that Pools are a 6th/7th/8th bottom side which is a bit better than a lot of us expected.

We lost to two much better sides in a week, so what!

Its early doors yet. My worry is the lack of pace in the side plus the possibility of getting overstretched due to injuries and suspensions. We have too many players who are league two standard at best.
I know we have to get on with what we've got until we are able to replace people, but it worries me that it will be a bridge too far.
Hopefully we can survive and then rebuild.

This season has a worryingly similar pattern to last season. Encouraging 0-0 away first up, a good victory in League Cup but then brought back down to earth by one of the bigger lads at home. At least this year we got a point at home to Swindon and great win away. (Remember I did say similar not the same as last season before anyone jumps down my throat.) And we have a home game next against a L2 side in the JPT. Northampton......prepare for relegation!

To echo what some have already said my concern is the lack of pace in the side particularly upfront where Boydie seems to move fractions of a second after the ball is played, whereas you saw their lads movement today was before the ball was played to give more options and gets them into space quicker which makes all the difference. I know that's not Boyd's game but it wasn't last year either and we miss O'Donovans ability to stretch defenders. We are playing too much infront of sides.

I hope i'm wrong but with no players coming in by tuesday and with Boyd and Brown off the pace and liable to break down at any minute we will have a long autumn and winter until January window. McSweeney, Larkin, Behan, Armannson and the rest just don't look up to it and are our only back up. Like I said previously we should just cut losses and get them out on frees and with the £5 or 6 K a week they get between them bring in 2 quality players who at least will change a game and get on ahead of a centre back from the bench when we are chasing a game. Our squad is not that small in numbers but is desolate in terms of quality. The centre backs still don't look solid enough, Sam was ran ragged today and Lidds looked light weight against Mellor. Some of the goals today where school boy stuff.

Plus points, are Murray and Horwood who have both done well for us and the resurrection of Sweens who I thought was brilliant today, and has been so far this season, and deserved better.

As Bollo on the Mighty Boosh would say " I got a bad feeling 'bout this ".

No we will have 1 week to wait until the emergency window opens allowing loans, which will run till January, then after that window closes we will have one more week to wait before the 2nd emergency loan window opens.
