Maybe it's time for us the fans to also begin a fresh.

Many on here (and I include myself) have at times posted negative threads and had a go at certain aspects of the club. Now although I admit to being at fault with negative posts, there are some on here whose sole intention is to post negatively at ALL TIMES.

Yes we can all post things in the heat of the moment , after a bad display, when emotions get the better of us, but some seem to actually delight in it, and are only happy when making as negative a post as possible.

I've made a concious decision to try and avoid these boards for a couple of hours, though it will probably take longer in my case, after a poor display to try and calm down and think things through before putting my views on here.

Some of the rhetoric I have posted in previous instances having looked at it has actually put me in the negative camp, which although anyone can be negative at times seemed to read like I wanted us to fail, or that I actually wanted Turner to fail, when if the truth be known I wanted him to prove me wrong.

I posted statistics at times to back up my argument , that's true but I never went on to a personal level , which if some look back at what they have posted many did.

As I and many have said we're Pools fans and surely we all want Pools to succeed.

We are were we are, we have we to stay in this together.

We may disagree with certain aspects of the way the club is run/going. We all have our own opinions and I'm not for one minute asking people not to post those opinions, but surely those who , in my opinion, and I believe their are some on here only post negative threads, and constantly put their negative thoughts across. I can even bet if I wanted to look, I would be able to find some members who have never posted a positive thought on here. They know who they are they don't need me to single them out. But surely even in the darkest hours, and we certainly haven't reached them yet, they must be able to find some positives, from something's.

Even if it's just coming on here and giving any player a man of the match award.

Negatives and positives must be posted that goes without saying if not then what's the point of a board. But come on, if your that negative about the club you supposedly support, then why not just give it all in.

I posted the optimistic thread, I spat my dummy out not long after, well that's wont happen this quickly again.

Pools are MY TEAM , they've been in my life for over 40 years, I'm not giving up on them now or in the future, FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

So come on lets get behind everyone at the club. from the Chairman to the tea lady, From the Secretary to the PA announcer , from the Press officer to the groundsman. We in this together.

We can start by attending games , getting the crowds back, getting behind the players and making the Vic a place other teams don't like to visit. We can get on people's back who have stopped going to get there, we can give them the extra revenue to possibly bring in a better player if we need one.

So although we have 3 home games in a period of 7 days(24th-31st) lets attend as many as is possible in our own circumstances. let's not post silly excuses for not attending, finances are not an excuse they're a reason.

By that I mean some will now be saying I'm not going while KH is chairman (they can't use Turner now because he's gone) that's an excuse, Pools will be there long after KH has gone long after I have gone. So come on as they say all for one, one for all, lets get behind everything that is Pools.

Top post clappp

pity one of the nuggets who was asked his opinion by the Hartlepool Mail isn't in the same place....

quote from today's Mail......

"Chris Turner, he wasn't the best. We started losing under him a few years ago and I stopped going to the football.

"We need to get a decent manager in and some decent players because it would be good to start going to the Vic again!"

Exactly the sort of support we need from the towns folk

Also the headline in the Mail today, Keegan, Shearer or Beardsley for Pools? What a joke. banghead

Great Post fetish clappp

I agree with pretty much everything you said and would go along with that.

Im as negative as anyone but go back to when we are shoite and at the foot of the table and I was just enjoying supporting the team. It s strange as we are obviously in a better position now than we were under gibson but my cynicism towards the team has increased ten-fold.

With Turner leaving I have a bit more optimism as he was not the right man for the job (managers job that is). If we can appoint someone with the same committment but with better management skills then I will be far happier.

I was chuffed to hear Hodcroft was stepping down but things have changed 'apparently'. I think its a great shame that IOR are throwing money into the club but the whole 'them and us' divide which has plagued the club during the IOR years will remain bcause they have an individual like ken at the club.

Will there be a great deal of managers who want to work under him? Probably not. He hasnt done himself or the club any favours since he has been here.

Yes, im a bit more optimistic with Turner leaving but a lot of the same problems will remain. The problems at the club were not limited to the manager/DOS.

Great rallying call Bob. I would expect the club to be saying the same thing - but there seems a deafening silence. Nothing new on the official site yet. Where is the interview with Ken Hodcroft, Mick Wadsworth, Sam Collins etc calling for the fans to get behind the team after the surprising developments of the last 24 hours? I don't expect them to go into any detail of what's gone on - but I do expect some upbeat message. Pools World is their baby they can engineer whatever statement they like without the risk that a newspaper asks awkward questions/distort the answers/edits the replies. Come on Mark lets have some positive spin.

My honest answer to that, and it not just being positive' Is Yes.

To quote the Hartlepool Mail, to explain my thinking.

"Undoubtedly, a big name manager would boost attendances and generate some new enthusiasm.
But on the applications in the Summer of 2006, no"

Well I believe the opposite of the mail and believe a better class of manager may well apply this time, for the reason that Turner is no long in the picture. I know Wilson said CT never interfered with team/transfer targets etc, but I believe and it may well be wrong but the fact that any new manager has only a chairman to answer to, will be more beneficial to attracting someone.

I never did understand so the so called D.O.S. position and what the job description was, but if we assume it's similar to Director Of Football, some managers will not work under that restraint of answering to someone other than the chairman.

As I said in original post "it's the start of a new dawn" that can begin with reverting back to the tried and trusted way of a manager in charge answerable to his chairman. The fact is if we advertise / interview any candidate who is successful then that person will come in to contact with his new chairman from the offset.

I can understand people's view that maybe Turner should have gone back upstairs, but to some one coming in as manager the spectre of Turner being above them, knowing what he has achieved with Pools and the fact his friendship with KH is/was well documented, may well have been a contributory factor of why the candidates in 2006 were not "big names".
