Been driving petrol car all day, just went to fill up my camper with diesel and put 12 quids worth of petrol in before I realised it's diesel.
I then put a tenners worth of diesel in because diesel is heavier and drove the 400 yards to my home.
Do I fill it right up with diesel to try and dilute the petrol or try and siphon what's in the tank ???

No for the sake of losing £22 worth of fuel ,drain fuel tank and fill it with correct fuel it will save you maybe hundreds in the long run .If your a member of the AA or RAC they will drain it for you

£10 Diesel in a petrol engine, no big deal. Just fill up with petrol and put up with a bit of smoke.

Vice verca is a different matter, the petrol will strip the lubricant properties of diesel and cause major problems. You might also trash your injector pump which will be a dear do.

Get the petrol pumped out pronto.

I siphoned half of it out, it tastes foooking awful but I managed enough to stagger upstairs to sleep it off.
I've since put diesel in and just am keeping it topped up see how it goes.
The new beast is a Mazda Mx5, the old mark 1 with the pop up headlights :coool:
