Although I didn't like the comments that were being made on those Facebook group pages, I do agree with Cameron having a word with Facebook over the comments because those clearly are stupid comments in my opinion.

I don't think Moat was a legend. Cameron was right - he was a murderer.

But I have to admit I agree with Facebook initially not taking down the pages. I can see why Facebook did a U-turn on that in the end given the messages, but it might just look just as if Facebook were pressured by the Government to take them down.

I believe the internet should be a place where everybody should be able to express their opinion freely regardless of indeed how controversial the comments are and it should be a place for debate, just like this message board. We all have differing philosophies on 'Pools, but it is not right that people should be dictated to just because the opinion of one person does not agree with the majority of a whole group.

The Government must have decided that these comments had crossed the line.

I can remember a couple of months ago stories about the amount of pressure Google was put under by the Chinese Government to censor its Chinese page, and thinking "This isn't right."

I think the Government has broken that rule, but I'm glad that the pages have now been taken down as it stops even more people thinking stupidly in this way.

Facebook didn't shut the page down, the numb lady who created it did. Facebook refused to shut it down.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion even that stupid cow.

My opinion is that she should be sterilized before breeding anymore welfare dependent sprogs. Infact they should be taken into care. She should then be placed in stocks in front of a school and shown as example of what poor schooling, drink and drugs does to your life chances. She is a sad example of white trash and the unintended consequence of 60 years of the welfare state.

Dunno about the cigarettes but they can always go to library I suppose.. rolfl rolfl

Maybe the clue is in the word "single mother!" they seem to get the lot given to them ona plate..

I say sterilise the under-classes, no job then no kids or the other solution would be to only pay for the first child (they'll soon discover contraception then I guess)..
Although I prefer the extinction route myself .If we prevent them breeding by removing the incentives to do so these rats around they'll die off of their own volition (I'm sure I mentioned this solution on here before in a previous life).

In the same vein, foul-mouthed support for Moat represents a howl of rage from some of the Northern, dispossessed white working class who feel, however unjustifiably, they have been neglected by the sweeping social forces changing modern Britain

Facebook is a platform for allowing people to make fools of themselves, so it did its job.

Anyone in their right mind knows that for everyone who wants to make a hero of Raoul Moat there are a thousand who know better. The hero worship is completely without substance. Those who joined the group are only holding themselves up to ridicule.

Sometimes it pays to think before complaining. Unless of course being the morality police is your hobby.
