It's those who've travelled 6,000 miles to watch that shower that I feel sorry for - and Rooney has the cheek to grumble about being booed by them... refred

Rooney was completely abysmal, the worst Ive seen him play. If our world cup supposedly rests on his shoulders then we are doomed. The whole team apart from David James were dire. Non of them seemed capable of controlling a football. An embarrassment and they deserve to be on the plane home.

useless gutless talentless overhyped wankers

For me, that was a must win game tonight.

We didn't.

From what I've seen over the last two games, I do not have any confidence whatsoever that we will beat Slovenia on Wednesday.

As much as I like him, Rooney (and probably every one else in the squad) has really got to take a reality check. How can he say 'It's nice to be booed by your home fans' ( sarcastically) when what he and most of the other 'World Class Players' in his England team, each earn in one week enough money to have paid for each and every one of the 25 thousand (reported) England fans to travel to watch them in Cape Town and other venues. How long have these fans saved to pay for that.
If I had saved to go and watch that shite, I'd have been a bit pissed to say the least.
Is Fabio really Martin Scott with a Fabio suit on.

no one looked really that arsed, was such a weak performance i was gutted.

I took a day off work and looked forward to this all week, the people there took fucking weeks off work and spend thousands, and they served up that!!

Ashley Cole tried his best, carragher, terry and james were solid, the rest were awful.

if you start with Emile Heskey, what do you expect?

What Capello has basically done is say, right Wayne, we know Heskey wont score, so ALL the pressure is on you to score.

Wayne Rooney was Conference level at best last night and was so frustrated he mouthed off to the camera, at least he showed a little passion, albeit misguided.

Capello has got it majorly, majorly wrong.

this is the essence of why it's wrong to give footballers so much money. Basically if I see someone getting a hundred grand a week, then I expect to see overhead kicks into the top corner from the halfway line for that type of cash. If they can't produce football to that level then take the money off them proportionately.
Bunch of no mark millionaires who have been handed everything on a plate - if they don't want the flak then they shouldn't have accepted so much money in the first place - wankers!!!!!

I think I must be the Jinx for Rooney. I don't watch all that much premiership football admittedly, but though I keep on reading how brilliant he is, I've never seen him score.

As much as it pains me to say it, England can't afford to drop Rooney.
Starting XI against Slovenia.

James.
Johnson, Terry, Upson, A. Cole.
Lennon, Gerrard, Barry, J. Cole.
Rooney, Defoe.

if that is the line up, we will win.

Capello is making bad decisions at the moment, his faith in swp is summit i just cant understand.

It's not Capellos fault, it the English game and the effect it has on players

Sky Sports & MOTD try to tell us its 'the best league in the world', Christ, it isn't even the best league in England

At the end of the day, you can't polish a turd

or make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. How many times did Billy Horner use that to have a sly dig at Vince Barker. Mind you he was correct of course. Once seen Billy coming out of the Clarence Road side one weekday muttering obscenities after what must have been a meeting with aforementioned chairman

No, its Capellos fault for picking someone who isn't good enough to pull on an England shirt, therefore putting all the pressure on Rooney to win the game.

If Defoe or Crouch were alongside Rooney, the pressure to score is more equally spread out.

Putting pressure on Rooney

The daft feck believes his own hype, Gary Lineker for instance was a class above, he scored when it was needed
Rooney just whines like a Darlopisstw_at when things aren't going his way

I want England to win the WC and can't understand people wanting them to lose, however I'm realistic enough to know we won't, there is no spirit in the team
