Apparently the flying of "our" flag in "our" country offends some minorities. Imagine telling Iranians, Iraqis, Afghans, Turks, Americans, Australians, etc, etc, that they couldn't fly the flag in their own country.

I think they are support officers if they are on bikes so as far as I am aware they can't arrest you anyway as far as I know but others may know different? It would be funny to see them try like - what could they arrest you for, flying a flag isn't illegal in the UK is it?

I do a lot of traveling around places like ferryhill, chilton, trimdons and so on for work. They have st george flags up right throughout the year and theres seems to be more and more regardless of the world cup.

I know why they have these flags up but how come these places dont have to take them down

Why did they tell him to take it down Muttley? Makes a big difference. There isn't a law against it, it isn't offensive to anybody particularly not with a World Cup coming up. Lots of other people fly flags and nothing happens to them. You can make it offensive by adding slogans or initials or a chant but your mate hadn't done that.

Is there a by-law against all flags etc keep the marina looking how it was meant to? Or there could be a by-law against hanging any stuff off balconies so that people don't get hit on the head if it falls off. If it is because of something like this then it is a bit stupid of the bicycle riding copper fetishists but nothing to do with minorities or anybody being offended.
