Joking aside - I feel sorry for you lot - if you do go down on the back of a points deduction, someone at the club needs to be dragged over the coals.

To be honest, I am just glad there are four teams in the mix now instead of three.

Aye Mr Loughlin certainly had me fooled.

How ironic that Liddlle's suspension starts in 14 days time yet the suspension for 10 yellow cards started immediately before any paperwork was issued.

It could also be ironic that we could stay up on goal difference with us being docked three points but no mention of reducing our goal difference. I have a feeling there could yet be quite a few legal challenges before this is resolved.

I also have to say that the case developed on here was a lot stronger than the one the official states as being our case.

According to Sky Sports News, Breaking News, Hartlepool are to launch an immediate appeal against the points deduction (and they have taken the League One table off the side, probably removing our points already)

The last thing you want to do is appeal. If anything they could increase the punishment. The fact is Liddle played when he shouldnt and it always the responsibility of the club to keep track of things like this. The League/FA will never accept responsibility.

how can we appeal anyway. If, and its a big if, we were successful to get the points back, we could already be relegated. They wouldn't then reinstate us back from L2 to L1 because we then had enough points to be safe. Would they give us +3 to start the season? I doubt it.

Theres no reason why they cant dock more points! They ban players for more games when it suits them. They would see any appeal as Pools causing a fuss when they are clearly in the wrong, just like an appeal against a blatant red card.

i'm positive someone posted the FL rules which stated the MAXIMUM punishment is 3 points...

Appeal should have waited till 5pm saturday - we win - forget the appeal as we're safe - get beat and finish in last 4 - appeal nothing to loose!!

As no one knows if they can dock more point - too big a gamble before Saturday!
