Taken off IntotheBlue site from someone who played in the fans game last night and asked Turner.

Apparantely,

1 of them is over who was booked, apparently 2 LO players pushed Lidds over in the back of the net when they scored, and he thought 1 of them was getting booked, so it wasn't made clear it was actually him. CT was debating a sub at the time so didn't see it either.

When LO gave us the dvd of the game, which usually happens so they can watch it on the way home, the dvd was blank :o :o

He also blamed Lidds as he should have checked it out if he wasn't sure if he'd been booked or not.

I have been told by a good source that the club have punished Liddle for not knowing he was banned.

Agreed with Doug. If that is all true then I cannot see how the club have any chance of getting away with it. Im hoping we have a better defence than that. Surely thats got to be a load of rubbish.

Looks like the ref was behind him when he showed it - so maybe the card wasn't shown properly

The look on Lids face says it all - but if anyone can talk our way out of it - it has to be Turner - he's been talking his way out of messes all season!

I hope they don't let the jibbering idiot anywhere near the panel given the bollocks he has come out with this season. I'd sooner have Lawrence give our defence than him.

I want to believe its bollox but the fella that told me isn't one for making shit up and is an employee of the club (not a steward or turnstile blokey either).

If anyone on panel has ever played in the Premiership, at a club with big crowds, or a decent sized budget then we are totally fooked if it's Turner who speaks to them.

Can't see how Orient's dodgy DVD would help our case, it isn't a League DVD and they aren't even obliged to give us it. What might help is the booking not being clear, I think a few people who were there said they weren't sure if Liddle had been booked or not. If it isn't clear the place you'd check would be the League's website and that wasn't updated so he still looked to be on nine. I think it is the ref's report you should check in but as that arrives later in the post it isn't unreasonable to consult the website.

If that is the defence then Pools have done the right thing keeping quiet about it. Turned themselves in, admitted guilt and allow the League to gloss over their contributing error. Gives the League a good incentive to keep it all calm by giving us a punishment that doesn't change the relegation places. Add that to their tendency to bottle if a messy legal appeal might be on the cards and we should be alright providing we very politely make it clear that the lawyers will be on it if we go down.

Having said all that the players and secretary should be able to keep a simple tally chart in a little book and if you aren't sure whether you've been booked you can ask the ref after the match. Even if we get off some arses should be kicked very hard because the whole thing is our own fault.

We deserve to have the points removed and hopefully not more than 3. I just hope the FA don't see it as blatant cheating and punish us more as our goal difference wasn't damaged by defeat. Also all other players that weekend in the same situation as liddle didn't play on the monday and regards turnip making a sub that sub took over 8 minutes to get on the pitch. Another piece of quality management by the stupid one! If it happened to any club around us we would want action i think we should expect the worsed followed by turners words of sticking together in these times. OUT refred

I've thought about my comments and i would like to take them back. Nothing will happen with the FA it was a mistake by them and they hope it hasn't caused any unrest at the club. Pools will be a top of the table club next season and all our players could play at a higher level. So on and so on i must be a true pool's fan now!

If we don't get a points deduction it will because the FL have bottled it. We deserve a deduction and we'll get one, the only thing that remains to be answered is how many points.

Theres no question that we deserve one because we are indisputably guilty however if there is some reasonable mitigation and its taken into account we might get away without the full three points penalty. All things considered I expect we'll probably lose a single point.

it looks like it's gonna be 3 points - looks like Turner's time should be up - but it won't.
If he had ANY decency he will resign immediately after the final whistle on Saturday - whether we stay up or not
I won't hold my breath - his mate will probably threaten to sue him if he tries to walk away

If it does go to court I wonder if the court will take into account that Sky and other managers/pundits and various fans mediums have publicly spoken out, which could be interpreted as an influence on the verdict and therefore jeopardising our chances of justice and fair play.
Also if the football league admit that the referee didn't include it in his report then the card didn't exist. Therefore Liddle shouldn't have been suspended, shouldn't have been excluded at Wycombe where we lost due to Ben Clark's errors.
If Liddle has been fined, as somebody reported on another thread, then he has grounds for compensation etc etc etc.
Will the football league risk this happening ??????????????
OR
Will Pools dig their heels in and take this all the way??????????
It really all depends on the outcome this weekend.

Personally I am expecting that the chain of events will take us down but I am still clutching at every straw that floats by.

just about sums it up for me that.... I can imagine Pools possibly fighting it...but again there may be some arbitrary agreement..let's say they might agree to 2 points between them and take it no further. That way a draw on Saturday will be good enough
