Stockport are already relegated so hopefully they'll be trying out some of their fringe players.

I like to think that after today's effort (by all accounts it can't really be called a performance) the players will realise there is no room for complacency and beat Stockport comfortably. 3-0 I reckon.

I hope they win anyway. The atmosphere will go beyond gruesome if we lose or even draw.

I can see Tuesday night being one of those pivotal moments, the team struggle, possibly make a right balls-up of the whole affair, and from then on it's all downhill. Make no bones about this whole farce, if the players dont want to come to the party on Tuesday we'll get beat.
Let's be honest if we do cock it up, and it's well within our grasp, everyone will say they saw it coming, and I for one was'nt fooled last weekend, as I thought Brighton were better than us, it's just they had a reserve team front line, Flinders had a blinder, and it saved our bacon.

In the season when they were relegated from the championship 2001/02 I think, Sheffield Wednesday had their relegation confirmed, then went to play Burnley away and won 7-2.

I fully expect Stockport to play with no pressure on them and if we give them an inch a new low for HUFC performances this year could be reached.

Also according to Sky Sports News yesterday Stockport haven't won in 26 games. So we know what's likely to happen now.

I shuddered when I read O'Donavan in the Mail on friday saying that they lads couldn't afford to be complacent. No shit Sherlock what have they got to be complacent about? sctatchinghead When ever a player says stuff like this in the press we seem to do exactly what they are saying won't happen, like "we must start a game with a high tempo" usually means a lacklustre start and an early goal against. For "we must start to defend better" quotes cue calamatus defending. banghead

Surely the players realised before the game that we had been charged by the FA and liable to lose the 3 points gained on monday, the very reason why they presumably felt a bit cock sure of themselves. Any manager and indeed captain worth their salt would be strutting about the dressing room threatening castration to anyone who under performed against a side 2nd bottom and winless for 8 games with Chris westwood at the heart of defence.

We need 3 points on tuesday just to cover the loss of 3 points coming our way due to administrative meltdown and that should mean the players are fired up and focused on doing a job. That should mean ....... however.......this is Pools managed by CT afterall.

the Scott AND Turner season

Turner was running the show for the last 15 games of that season - fact

Stepho was just the mouthpiece for the media
The fat wankered one was taking training etc and pulling the strings in his own inimitable failing, losing way

There were too many sightings of this on a regular basis on the training grounds for it not to be true
