Heard from a sauce that Darlow's top striking prospect wants to join his Irish mates at VP!

Me too.
I did hear something similar but, at the moment, am treating it with a pinch of salt.
Never seen the lad play but it appears he does know where the onion bag is.
It is rumoured that he doesn't want to play in the BSP.
Time will tell, as they say.

He wants to play at the highest level he can. I don't think he fancies the BSP. He is highly rated and good mates with the Irish posse.

could be a good signing for Pools, also why dont we get Gary Dempsey as well as most of our team are Irish so we may as well have another one.

Anyone in the know have any idea if we can keep O'Donavan on another loan deal next season?

I dont know why he wouldnt stay if we can have Gamble, Behan as well as hopefully getting this Purcell and Dempsey.

Not much of a chance of O'Donovan on loan next season.

He's out of contract at Sunderland in the summer and unlikely to be offered a new contract.

The only realistic chance we have of him being at Pools next season is if we can get him on a permanent contract, and that'll come down to the wages on offer and whether or not anybody else comes in for him who is at a higher level, offers more money etc.

Hope that helps.

it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if O'donovan signed for us in the summer

I hope he does and alos we can get that Purcell who knows how to score, however that would mean getting rid of some of the deadwood as think those two with Boyd, Behan and the ice man (as offers something different up front) would be enough.

Nor me. But as usual it will probably depend on any other offers he gets.
What about this triallist left back? Is he any good?????

Maybe having all these irish players isn't a good thing.
What if they all get called up for Northern Ireland.
We'd be fooked when they're on international duty

If we could get a full season out of Browny, playing at the top of his game, I really think that would be a tremendous boost. But I have this nagging doubt about him returning to his peak and promise. I hope I am wrong but he has had some horrific injuries.
It really would be a shame.
The silver lining is that bigger clubs may also be thinking along those lines, so we get to keep him a bit longer. Once he proves his fitness and back at his best, he'll be off IMO. But not on a free I hope.

Why would we want a player from a conference team though?

Funnily enough he was telling me in The Staincliffe just the other night how it's his lifetime ambition to manage Hartlepool.
