My son turned 2 on Tuesday, and for his birthday, among other things I got him a birthday card which has a Capri on it, and a Corgi Capri (Professionals 3.0S from the late 70s off ebay).

Our lass reckons I'm brainwashing him into becoming a Capri fiend, but I think it's all good stuff. Surely better than a crappy Cougar or Puma? Or even worse a Probe?

Funnily enough when i was posting the picture i had a feeling as a young lad that i remember seeing one that said made in Hartlepool??

Anyway id rather he was interested in Cougars, Pumas or Capris than Corsas, Peageot 206s or Clios like every fucker else

The car I always wanted, since I left school, a long long time ago, but never did get one.

I had a silver Capri mk2 1.6GL, which I bought from the garage which used to be where the Kwik Save store is beside the library in the town centre, was it Martins? or summit like that.

Anyway I loved it, but it was lousy on icy mornings, the back-end used to go dead easy, so I had to put some heavy bags of shot (from work) in the boot to give it more stability.

.....Happy days.

Probably as it was on a Y plate (1982?), and I bought it around 1986 ish.

The father in law used to have a decent spec MKIII (3 litre I think)one many years ago but his wife made him get rid. He still regrets not having it to this day.

Lovely looking cars
