Very welcome three points which I expected we would get.
Three points from the next three games would keep the momentum going.
Any more than that would make me really happy.

Not much to talk about really. From what I heard of the game, O'Donovan stole the show and Southend didn't really put up much of a resistance either (just like the Millwall home game this season).

I am more of a viewer rather than a poster to be honest but i just noticed that when we win the bunker seems to be very quiet and when we lose it is constant negative threads. Was just wondering why this is thats all!!

Hopefully we can get a few more wins in our next 5 games!!

Be carefull now mate, you're on the verge of being positive about the club.
We can have pages and pages on nasty corporate Pools trying to get a few quid back from Billy town, but after a 3-0 win the place clams up apart from the odd "yeah but we only had 3 shots on target" type comment.

Looking at the first table, my immediate reaction was 'where's Darlo', then I realised they would have been enjoying their first visit to the Conference.

Then the other 2 reminded me of those close season waits for the Football League Meeting, and finding out if we had enough votes to still be in the league in August.

and how many posts did you make last night after the game ?

everyone complains there are not enough posts when we win , but none of you actually do anything about it.

then again if you had you would have nothing to complain about .

haha I was waiting for that one.
I couldnt comment because I missed the game, I'm away working.
After a great result like 3-0 I, like the original poster, thought things might have been a bit upbeat.
I'll just have to rely on the 18mins of action from the Pools player to give me a fair reflection on the game.

I'll tell you what I find strange.
People who criticise fellow Poolies for commenting on current affairs at Hartlepool United ( which I believe is what the board is all about) and then criticise fellow Poolies for not commenting about a particular game. Do you want us to stop commenting on the things we disagree with and only comment on things you want to hear?
For the record I have commented on Saturdays win and current affairs at the club. I will continue to do that where I feel a contribution is appropriate.................if that is alright like.

i think its as someone said earlier. Its somewhere to come and vent your frustrations after a poor performance/defeat.

If pools do something bad theres a 5 page rant with people acting like the world will end. If they do something good, then its a one pager with a few clapping smilies.

I think the thommo's original post was more of an observation than a complaint.

as he isn't a prolific poster he was basically told he had no right to make such an observation.

I don't think that will encourage him to post more.

It's not that, it was more like someone going to the doctors to complain about a pain when he headbutts the wall. The doctors advice is quite simple.

i think you misunderstood me derwent.

what im saying is that its your board, you lot, out there, and it is whatever you make it.

you can have a negative baord where all thats posted is doom and gloom.

you can have a rose tinted board where everything is wonderful and ior and turner can do no wrong.

or, ideally, you can have a balanced board where good things are applauded, bad things are questioned, and intelligent debate is possible.

what we actually need , are more people to come onto the board after a great win like saturday and discuss it and help celebrate it. thats only going to happen if folk get off their arses and post something, rather than waiting for someone else to do it, then complaining when they dont.

i was on here for a few hours after i got in from the game, and the silence was deafening. i made afew posts to try and get some debate going but there was very little activity. had we lost 3-0 the board would have been buzzing.

Sorry Chip, I wasn't having a go at you. Although looking at my post again I can understand you taking it that way. I agree with what you say on this thread and was trying to say the same really.

its a good question, so over to you lot, why dont you log on and post when pools win ?

Fact is it's easier to post negative guff than positive. That's just how it works.

When we play well, you can basically post saying "well done, keep it up", and many people do.

But when we lose, everyone has their own view on where it went wrong and what should be changed, and then everyone argues about what should be done.

It doesn't mean we're a load of negative tossers. As someone just said, it's a venting place and you need to vent most when you're pissed off. The vast majority on this board have a balanced view, enthusiastic about the club, give credit where it's due, etc, and you notice this in real life... it's only if you took this message board as the representative view that you'd be misguided, because it's not.

Surely he wasn't told any such thing?
He was just being encouraged to comment on the game that he was waiting for other people to comment on. He'll be all embarrassed now, and never say another word.

I think it's mainly because when you venture an opinion on here, without having skin like a rhino, you will probably get called a tramp, an idiot, get told you need shooting in the face, or at the very least, you get told you don't know what you're talking about as you haven't ever played the game or supported the team at the right times.

It's all in the archives, trust me.

people need to toughen up . rhino like skin doesnt just grow naturally.

for the record the only time mr klinger has been busy on this board was after we LOST 2-0 at home to huddersfield.

he had a lot to say that night 90% of it negative. rolfl rolfl

unfortunately I miss half the games because I work away.

after the match against Huddersfield I made comments that Behan and Larkin were crap and Boyd was suffering because he hasnt had a decent partner up front all season.
apparently the fella O'Donovan seems ok and Boyd had a good game alongside him on Saturday.

I havent worked out the figures but 90% negativity seems a bit OTT
