Is it just me, or is that the most overated "comedy" show on telly. I've watched it a couple of times now and cant see what all of the fuss is about. And as for the large Welsh bewer who sounds like a robot, ffs nobody talks like that.

As for James Corden should'nt he be hangin' around a bus stop or summit......Tame in the extreme.

I like it. The first two series were great but the last one was only 'good'.

Hope they don't do anymore though as I can see it ending up being shyte.

I got to be honest I for one loves it. I think its very funny I do.

Very clever and subtle humour and James Corden and Ruth Jones are genius.

But then again I think Only Fools is the dogs.

One of the funniest comedies of recent times was Early Doors written by Craig Cash and set in a Manchester pub. Proper piss yer pants funny.

Early doors now I rated that, but to put the aforementioned in the same league as that is like comparing a pound shop to Harrods.

See I don't think Early Doors is laugh out loud funny, it's very good and humourous but I think G&S is much funnier.

Characters like Bryn, Nessa, Smithy and Smith's sister are acts of genius IMO.

'Early Doors' was and indeed is, brilliant, very well written and acted.
One of my favourite comedy shows ever. Can't believe it never got the recognition it deserved especially when you compare it to the similar style 'The Royle Family' which has now become a shadow of it's former self with the last two Christmas episodes which I found cringingly awful.

Agreed. That last one was painful.

Some of the characters have changed so much it's unreal, Dave and Denise were never the brightest but they're so dumb now they've barely got a braincell between them.

Neither are as good as Flight of the Conchords however IMO.

Early Doors is/was very good, but not laugh out loud funny, more well observed comedy. I've only watched one G&S, or to be precise about 20 minutes, didn't find anything funny in it at all, the characters were just irritating, even Rob Brydon who I usually love to watch.

Dave on the Royal Family used to take the piss and be almost witty, now he's semi retarded. It's as if he's suffered a serious head injury.

I really enjoyed Gavin and Stacey, I've recently watched it on DVD, not sure how I missed it the first time.

Nighty Night was brilliantly done and at times painful to watch it was so dark. The Julia Davis character Jill was unbelievably manipulative, especially the scenes with Mark Gatiss and Angus Deayton. Very clever writter Julia Davis and she is of course Dawn on Gavin and Stacy working with Ruth Jones again who was her assistant in the beauty parlour in NN.

The Beeb do make some blinding comedy that starts life on BBC3 before moving over to 1 or 2.

I have got to agree with the Royal Family though it was bloody awful at Christmas and it pissed me off that it was allowed to be aired it was so feeble and ruined the way I think about the series now. The Dave and Denise characters where like a parody of themselves and it was very lazy writting.

Got to add my weight to the Early Doors plaudits - brilliant stuff. Tommy the miserable old git and Man City fan was hilarious.

G&S was shite in comparison... refred

The royle family on christmas day made me want to kill myself, it was so depressing and boring, and it was just all the all old jokes from other series being churned out again and again.

How that made it on to the telly is beyond me (and the one they year before) - a pale shadow of its former self...

Good call MJ! clappp

Flight of the Conchords drizzles all over G&S.
Brydon/Corden etc are everywhere you look. Neither of them remotely funny imho.

Yeah, it must be an age thing, as I found that clip about as funny as your dog doing it's business on Bri Cockerills front lawn, then you discover you have'nt got a poo-bag, as he stares at you through his bay window. bbolt

G&S was shiit hot. Corden is genius, the gadji who plays Gavin is an aarse though. Looking forward to A League of Their Own on Thursday. Especially as Georgie Thompson is on.
