I have a bit of a problem with the bairns laptop.
AVG resident shield is constantly popping up with threats.I have done a full scan & it finds around 10 trojans which I delete but when I do another scan it finds them again.
Likewise if I scan with Malwarebytes or Super Anti Spyware.

Anyone got a clue whats going on ?

I have been thinking of getting NOD32 which will cost me £40 to put it on here and the laptop,is it worth it ?

It may be that you have more than 1 anti virus package on your laptop and one package is finding the virus patterns used for detection by the other package. (I know this can be the case as I was stupid enough to do the same thing).

I currently have
AVG
MalwareBytes
SuperAntiSpyware

but AVG is the only one that is running unless I start the others manually

The virus will be in your bootsector, therefor, when you restart your compter your bootsector also launches the virus again, it could also be in your system restore folder, you need to switch off system restore, do another scan, if the virus comes back you will need a better more powerful virus remover.

AVG is pretty basic when it comes to virus scanning, thats why it is free

I had something similar to this recently with a worm virus which had pages that looked exactly like the AVG site. It told me of loads of threats and when I clicked to remove them it took me to a screen to buy AVG Antivirus software for $85. It was a phishing virus trying to get card details.

I had to go to http://www.bleepingcomputer.comand download some Malwarebytes Anti malware for free gratis. Takes a while to sort out but it's fairly straight forward.

You probably need Mr Stupoolie for this, but I got something that installed itself in system restore so every time you rebooted it, the bugger re-installed itself. I had to turn off system restore and then delete them and then reboot.
