Now like many(probably most) on here I don't know the full facts with regards to the situation between Pools and BTFC. With that in mind I think people need to take a back seat and calm down until all those facts are known. I'm not defending either side and will reserve judgement until those facts come into the public domain.

That judgement will be based on both sides arguments, now I have read BTFC supporters opinions and listened to them, but at end of the day those opinions will be slightly biased as they have interest.

IF Pools have issued a winding up order against them they must feel they have a case (rightly or wrongly). To issue a Winding Up Order (WUP) Pools and their solicitors would have been in lengthy discussions because of the consequences, a wrongly issued petition may result in an Injunction against the issuer (in this case Pools)and a hefty Order for Costs. Pools would also have had costs for issuing the WUP. This is because they have to put money on deposit with the court as well as paying legal fees to solicitors. So it's a serious step for Pools to take.

This post is not in defence of Pools, but at the same time it's not defending BTFC, let's just for a minute or so, take a back seat and see where it goes.

Pools officials must surely have realised what possible consequences would aspire from this course of action, not only within the football fraternity as a whole but amongst their own fans as well, for that reason, alone, they must have given it some considerable thought.

So once more let's all calm down, support the team on the pitch tomorrow and go from there.

Bob, i think what people are most pissed off about is, that a grass root football club could go bust for the sake of 10K. And that could well be down to us, a club thats been there and knows what its like.

can i point out that this figure of 10 grand has not been confirmed. The WUP apparently didnt specify a figure, it was someone from the gazzette (or billingham town) who claimed it was this amount.

For the simple reason the other thread had got into calling not only Pools but posters whose opinions differed from others.

This thread was directed at both sides from the previous post, rather than being put on a thread that some, due to the name calling, may have stopped reading.

HTH

Quick edit, Chip could you have not asked the same question to PJ Poolie, who you replied to on a new thread of almost the same topic. That was entitled an alternative view.

Just a thought

I would of if I had read it prior to my starting this thread.

As you can see I edited my reply to your post, this was due to reading PJ Poolies post after that. While you on the other hand read PJ's post replied, read mine and asked why I didn't post on the original thread. You have also previously used the capital key to highlight something you want to get across. You have also used the large key to do the same. So what's your point there ?????????????

Once more HTH

And back to the title of this thread we all need to calm down.

Even I'm not actually discussing this post it's got to the point of 2 people simply having a go because of what one originally said.

if 30 people stop going to Pools as a result of this then that's 10 grand a season in gate money alone

Yeah, lets all get behind Billingham and drive both clubs into the ground (even if Pools are in the right).

Mick what's your problem with pools?
Stop acting like a rebellious fish wife and get back to supporting the team.
You're getting all worked up about nothing.
Pools have acted as I presumed in the correct way.
Stop making them out to be the bad boys in this.
You'll have a heart attack one day:)

I usually take any opportunity to slag HUFC off but im not sure where i lie on this one.

An attempt to put a local non league club out of business is an embarrasment in my eyes but im not sure what other option we had? If we have been asking for the money for over a year with no success then whatelse could we do? Meetings obviously hadnt worked so was this the only next step?

Is this just another example of how running a football club like a business has its downfalls?

Verdict: Undecided.

If I get a loan from the bank and then lose my job do you think the bank will just write off the debt...?

If the bank did your bathroom up so their employees could shower and change there before work as well as you and your family then demanded you contribute to the cost of the tiling, would you pay...?

its hardly a demand - it was an agreement so there is a bit of a difference don't you think...?

Yes - Pools are demanding payment because the AGREED payments have not been met. Seriously how hard is that to understand.

Agreed Jonny.

But remember there are some on here now claiming Pools are multi millionnaires.

it's a bit of a shitty situation but i don't see why Pools should lose out. Maybe if more people from Billingham went and supported BT rather than spending saturday afternoon sifting through junk in Boyes then BT could maybe pay some of their debts....

Seriously, how hard is it to understand that it's about more than the money. Over the years I've supported this club I've spent most of it from season to season wondering if we'll survive, we have, but the memories remain and I would hate it to happen to any club .... and my club to be involved.
