seen as we are yet again greeted with silence and contempt I'll still try to stick up for Pools.

Say you relayed a pitch to the cost of six figures for a Northern League club to use and made improvements to the dressing rooms, stadium, and club house and all you asked for in return was a very nominal weekly/monthly fee (about half what one person on minimum wage earns in a week) for upkeep and in nearly two years had received nothing.

That would be a total piss take wouldn't it? How would you deal with it? Are Billingham Town's players playing for free in the Northern League and do they really only own a couple of sets of bibs??

I understand exactly what you're saying, but....regarless of what's right, a quick assessment of the outcome would tell you that you're always gonna look like the sneering pantomime villain evicting the starving widow and her kids onto the street. You can't win, but you can make it a lot worse. Sometimes it's better to walk away and learn from your experience ... and at least that way YOU get the sympathy and good publicity.

Can't really add to that...except that I'm thoroughly disgusted with Pools/IOR.
You sum it up perfectly, Mr Snowy. clappp clappp clappp

i have to say i found the comment that billinghams northern league players actually pay to play games, very, very, hard to believe.

all the more reason pools should have had a statement out yesterday.

its embarrassing that a club allegedly run by volunteers are winning the p.r. battle over a so called professionally run outfit.

My thoughts exactly. Also Northern League standard players are generally paid to play, unless in crisis, with players normally jumping ship quickly when the money dries, and I do know that Billingham Town run a weekly £2000 Gold Bond Draw, as well as 10 Junior football sides, so the penniless pauper approach is possibly not all what it seems.

Check their site out if you doubt me. Although I'm not backing up Pools stance in stating that.

The weekly Gold Bond draw is run by Blackpool F.C. we are merely agents and get a percentage of the tickets we sell. This money is then used to pay part of our utility bills, bills which HUFC do not contribute to when they use our ground. The junior teams finance themselves, the only time that BTFC have any financial gain from them is when they use the clubhouse for fundraising and we get bar takings. Just clarifying a couple of points.

Bugger, that galls me, a local team on our doorstep having to involve themselves with a Blackpool F.C tote. The thought of that 4-0 defeat over there with 1500 of our fan's present still chokes me' throat.

Probably the second worst away performance ive seen after the 4-0 (?) drubbing to the loids back in 91/92?
