Anyone know what this is all about?

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

£10k is the amount.

What I cant understand is how IOR are willing to write off around £1m a year on a football team that gives them some sort of status with their customers and yet a willing to force shut a small local side over £10k, whilst appearing not being willing to negotiate. Fair enough if the amount was £100k but surely not over £10k!

So you know that there's been no negotiations? Tell us the rest then if you seem to know all about it...

There are always two sides but if Pools dont make their side known then it looks VERY bad on the club.

I cant believe Pools are taking this action over 10k. Turner gets that every fookin week the fat silly boy.

The club are becoming a pack of bounders and if this story is true then feck pools. They can rot

If that report is correct than its a disgrace, I was all for Pools getting their money back but hearing that Pools wont even talk to them and the level to what the clubs owns ie only the balls, strips and nets. Uncle Ken and IOR should hang their heads in shame.

At the end of the day it just might be our best option, maybe after attempting to restructure it.
I would rather do that than have the death of a local long standing football club on my hands.

Look, knowing IOR as we do, there is no doubt in my mind that we are perfectly within our right to pursue a debt, if that is what we are doing.

I am more concerned about the consequences, that's all.

Anyway, whats everyone going to do about it, stop going to pools?
I might not enjoy IORs choice of managers but they have given us days we could never have dreamed of.

It comes down to the simple point is £10,000 worth not looking like gits to the rest of the football league and the region as a whole, damaging our reputation in the process.

The answer is easy

May I give you my take on this as a Billingham Town fan. As I understand an agreement was entered into between Billingham Town and Hartlepool United. Part of this agreement was that we would get a pre season friendly every year. As you know, Hartlepool didn't send a team this year, a big fund raiser for us wiped out. Hartlepool United play their reserve team fixtures at Bedford Terrace. On these occasions the ground is staffed by BTFC volunteers, match hospitality (tea, coffe, biscuits etc) are provided by BTFC, the changing rooms are cleaned out by BTFC volunteers, heating in the changing rooms, hot water for showers and floodlights when required are provided by BTFC.
At the start of the current season we were due to play Bishop Auckland in our first home game. When we got to the ground we found that the goalposts had been stolen, not the crossbars, just the posts. The Police were informed. Luckily our junior section agreed to lend us a set of goals so that we could complete the fixture, otherwise we would have incurred a fine. As was reported later in the local press, the goalposts were later located in the Hartlepool are.
I hope you can now see why we at BTFC are feeling a little miffed at the moment.

Making assumptions on this matter are dangerous I would advise anyone to sit tight until the facts are established, posting stuff on Internet forums can lead to hassle believe me it's not worth it! If I was the Billingham fan I’d delete my post straight away.

Whatever the facts though this happening is really sad and obviously damaging towards the clubs image whether we are right or wrong- a real shame.

its damning on pools but i would be more inclined to believe BT than pools these days unless i saw concrete evidence to the contrary.

I still want to know why everyone is getting miffed over this.
Anything to have a go at the owners.
I do sympathise with Billingham Town but I'm almost sure Uncle Ken has been or will be in negotiations with them.
We're a professional club and I'm sure this will have been dealt with in a professional manner.
I wonder if IOR had just spent a couple of million on players and we were top of the league there would be the same amount of criticism:)
The future has a way of arriving unannounced. In two days tomorrow will be yesterday!
