ridiculous ratings

Flinders 8.5 - kept us in the game with a minimum of three top drawer saves.
Austin 7.5. linked well with jones. gamble - always keen to push on.
Hartley 7.5. Big lad linked well with monky and gamble - always keen to push on.
Liddle 8. - didnt notice any errors - great covering at times
Collins 8.5 - jermaine who? robert who?
Sweeney 8 - just for his performance after jones came on- thats his role and i've been saying it since august.
Humphreys. 5. great brain, body and timing not there yesterday for the pace of that game and i have said since gamble signed - humphreys and gamble should not be lined up in the same team.
Gamble 9.1 - King of the Vic yesterday - was even taller than the ref - in front of the hordes of irish visitors. supreme controlled passing display.
Monkhouse 7.5. His shot that hit the corner of post and bar never went in cos he hit it to well, still looks waddlesque at times but when he has his burts of play he's a delight to watch
Boyd 8. When the ball is played to his feet (the boy has trouble jumping if you ask me) he's one of the best players in the league, took a boshing yesterday but still scored a screamer and played the full 90.
Larkin 5.5 - marked out of the game by a 6foot 6 player (who was pampered to by the ref!) but still niggled away - not as bad as many think, but still not the long term answer in my eyes.
Jones 9.2 As in the other games he has come on in recently he altered the course of the match. Again, a player who i said last season was the best on our books and i still hold to that, now when the fans can see what they're missing they're coming back on board.
Behan 7.5 - just to disagree - dont let him take every free kick in the world, liddle can hit a mean shot too.

What concerns me is that when we have played with this much more attacking line up we have looked good - how many points would we have got using this line up since gambles arrival?

I agree with ADG essentially, although at half time I was feeling differently as I thought Leeds were moderate and we had gifted them a goal which we seem to do oh so often against any team, not just the big boys. Bad play in midfield and RH lack of pace exposed and it was a simple piece of movement by Bechhio that did for Collins. Too easy for him.

However, after Jones came on wow what a difference. Drive, energy and PACE. Larkin is so far out of his depth it's frightening and with Behan and Boyd together although one paced we caused Leeds problems. Gamble is looking awesome and if this is him still not 100% fit and still settling in then we have a proper player on our hands alright. First to balls, picks up second phase and drives us on and looks for the ball. Jones was making a point and boy did it land. I thought he'd scored with that deflected shot from the set piece and Leeds looked scared every time it went near him. Second half we played great despite the bobbly pitch and I feel we should have won. Monkeys strike against the angle moments before they scored would have changed the game.

The pleasing thing was we looked a threat and looked positive and didn't panic and we got our reward with a great set piece and great goal by Sweens. That is why he gets his game to make those runs and score and whilst i haven't been his biggest fan lately he did his job. Also the fullbacks where brilliant and real quality.

Is harsh as yours are not that much different from ADG's!!! Where do you get 9.1 and .2 from it's not bloody ice skating.

Lots of positives but we need to hammer them home next time out. If Humps starts next time it's clear CT has no balls, and we need to go 4-4-2 with Jones in and Behan and Boyd. I was proud to be a Poolie yesterday and the team needs to play with that passion and intensity from now until May and we'll be ok........just.

How about the marks in Sunday Sun, giving Austin a 5 because he was given a torrid time by McSheffrey!?!

McSheffery did nothing in the game, do they even attend the game or decide that someone is good player before the match then mark them accordingly!?

Tremendous second half display yesterday.
A lot of it was due to the team having more balance.
Once Humphreys and Larkin disappeared we saw a different team. The players grew in confidence because they knew there were no passengers in there anymore. They responded brilliantly to the substitutions and the generalship of Mr Gamble.
The big question that now needs answering is how much of that second half performance has sunk into Turner and will he have the bottle to at least start with that second half team against Huddersfield.
If the club want to attract the missing fans back, or at least retain the casuals who turned up yesterday, then that second half set up and performance needs to be repeated.
We'll have to wait and see.

I dont care what game you thought you were watching. I watched pools play against a very good Leeds team, and by the end of the game we had them on the run.

That'll do for me.

Well, we may never know...obviously retro is the strong silent type.
Perhaps he just thought your marks were a tad on the mean side, in one or two cases.
