Don't be ridiculous. I'll get you a ticket tomorrow.

Cheers for the offer, it's appreciated as are the offers by Mr Fireball and Mr Yubep.

However after not being able to buy a ticket I spent the money on buying some books for my boy (the full box set of Peter Rabbit and the complete works of Winnie the Pooh amongst others) and have arranged a babysitter for 5pm on Saturday to take Mrs R out for a meal.

I wasnt going to go as shelled out a load of money of holidays and general drinking over the past weeks. But as I am home and my birthday I think I will go, doing the old trick of asking my dad to get me a ticket during the week and hopefully forget to pay him as its my birthday.

I can understand your frustration, but shit happens.
Ive had a couple of hitches with our ticketing system in the past, but an email to the club has resulted in them helping me out.
A bit of communication really does work with Pools unlike some of our so called 'big club' opponents. Our ticket office does want the fans there & will make an effort to accomodate you if you contact them

Ripper's house, permanently under a cloud - Are you ever happy.

I'm sure you can phone the ticket office to book/buy tickets.

I'm more than happy mate, I'm genuinely a happy kind of guy, but thanks for the concern.

Please don't tell me that you think it's right or reasonable for the ticket office to be closed the weekend before an all-ticket game and that it's equally right or reasonable that because of the club's apathy towards its own supporters that those supporters should pay additional admin charges for buying tickets over the phone?

It won't spoil my weekend or make me unhappy though. I simply made other plans once my initial ones needed to change.

I disagree.

I think it is a major issue.

I think it's totally ridiculous that they think everybody should be able to buy tickets for an all-ticket match between 10am and 4pm on a weekday. The other people who were at the ground at the same time as me on Saturday thought the same too. So it's likely that it's not just me who was planning on going who now won't be. My money is that there would have been dozens at the very least who tried to buy tickets on Saturday.

And all this at the same time as the club are asking how they can get more people to the match. The first idea would be to make buying tickets simpler, including the silly data base idea. They seem to be saying that they want more people through the gates but don't do the simple things to help that happen instead preferring to alienate their potential customers.

FFS get a grip - if you didn't think that the game was not going to be all ticket at any point since you have ever had a waking thought, then

As I don't work for the club I don't know their ticket office hours, but would imagine that they're on their site - not checking CBA.

In relation to admin charges, again CBA. Unless you walked down, then you'll have incurred petrol costs, wear and tear on your vehicle, cost of your precious time away from the wife and kids, I'd have incurred the cost to stay at home.

Just what I was thinking, as a committed Poolie, Ripper should be thinking about when he introduces his son to the glory that is supporting your team. Obviously too early yet, but remember your purpose in life is to provide the next generation of fans to fill the terraces of Victoria Park.

I appreciate at the moment broken nights sleep can be getting you a little ratty, but it will get better. bbolt

Yep, for games like this id to buy tickets makes sense and is needed.

I was meaning generally the data base idea is pants for some geezer wanting to buy tickets for a home game against Exeter for him and his kids or the like.

Yeah, you'll blink and they'll be clattering about at 2am, and not getting out of bed till 12. Just in time for Chips, a pint and Pools!!

You've just described our house on a matchday perfectly, except swap the chips for a couple of burgers each.

I don't know why you guys bother to argue with Mr Ripper over his attendance.
So the ticket office wasn't open.............real hardship that.
Won't buy a ticket over the phone...extra cost.........stamps feet.
Fellow fans come to his rescue and offer to get him a ticket..............more excuses surface.

First of all we get the holier than thou attitude of my boy is more important than Pools. Of course he is, but that applies to the rest of us when it comes to our kids.
Then he throws in the babysitter booked for five pm ( convenient timing don't you think).
I'm taking the Mrs out for a meal is the reason. I'm taking my Mrs out for a meal as well, and we won't get home from the match until nearly seven.
Mr Ripper's sojourns with ticketing appear with regular monotony.
The fact of the matter is, as usual, he is looking for a reason to swerve this game and the club have appeared to give him one.

He doesn't want to go..................simple as.

As the song goes " who do ya think you are kidding Mr Ripper"

Am I right, Mr Ripper, or am I right.

You can't kid a kidder, me ould mucker.

You don't know me so don't pretend to. What you've written above is the biggest load of bollox since Buster Gonad loaded his into a wheelbarrow.

You even appear to be trying to defend Pools ticketing policy, which anybody in their right mind can see is stupid beyond belief.

I won't call you a prick, I'll just think it, but you definitely come over as a sanctimonious old fool.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for your kind offer, however as I stated above once I couldn't get a ticket I made other plans. It seemed like a sensible thing to do and it still does.

And it isn't just about me like I said above. Other people were trying to buy tickets too, yet Pools still bleat about how they can get more people to matches at the same time as not making tickets easy to buy. You couldn't make it up.

Totally agree with you about the ticket office not open last sat, as I am lucky and my dad can go and get me one as he doesnt work anymore. But they are making it easy mate you can ring up and buy one.

You managed to get there last year didn't you and I'm sure you didn't have a season ticket so you must've managed to get to said ticket office when it was open somehow.

It's your right to do something else but don't blame the ticket office for your apathy...

If it was apathy why would I have gone to the ticket office on Saturday morning?

Last year I was working in town and went for a ticket at dinnertime. At the moment I'm working 50 miles from Hartlepool and the same option isn't available.

Didn't make the Gillingham game mate, didn't get home from work in time. And even if I had I wouldn't have had time to go to the ticket office.

I really hope that we do beat them, same as I hoped we'd beat Norwich too, and every other game that we play I similarly hope that we win. That doesn't change on whether or not I can be there.

So you are one of those that thinks there are better things to do at 3pm on a saturday afternoon.

I suspect this has more to do with you have a very young child than you really being pissed off.

Been there, got that T Shirt, and its awful. But they grow quickly and if you are lucky like me, they grow to love Pools.

Stop blaming the club for everything though.

Its not a major issue really is it?

He'll be at the SOL ADG.

Oh, go on, Mr Ripper, get fixed up for the match. You'll like it when you're there.

Thought for the day, when making a stand it always helps to ask, who benefits? If no-one does, there's no point making the stand, innit?

Mr Ripper's not making daft excuses. He just over-reacts to perceived slights. A sharp blow to the head ought to cure it. Dibble, I nominate you.

That's understandable coming from you.

It's common knowledge that your whole life revolves around making a dick of yourself at Pools and trying to sexually assualt women who are too drunk to fight you off any other way than by spewing on you as their last line of defence.

Ripper has been let down and is making a principled stand. Blokes do things like that, sometimes things really piss you off and you see it as a challenge. Taking the piss will only strengthen his resolve not to go, best just leave it alone.

Hmm. I wonder, then, should the Bunker victims of the volcanic abuse that spews now and then from Mr Ripper's dark side, also make a stand and resign from the Bunker? sctatchinghead
There are parallels...in both cases of stand-taking, club or message board, the man at the top couldn't really care less about stands, or about considering the masses.
(I'm glad you're back, tho. Can't get a decent argument out of anyone else.)
