WTF is going on at that club. Didn't their chairman release a statement last week trying to clear things up and clearly said 'cooper will be given a chance'?

I bet he thinks he might have a chance of coming to Pools as manager

I was happy that he got sacked only three months into a job that he wasn't the right man for anyway.

Quite frankly, I'm glad he's gone.

This was the bloke that single handedly knocked 'Pools out of the FA Cup twice with lower league opposition.

He's become a thorn in 'Pools side.

Think the Barry Fry involvement had a lot to do with Cooper going, you are right john people down here love the chariman for some really mad idea. My boss think its good Cooper has gone and there are massive rumours that Alan Curbishely will take over.

The official statement doesn't say he was sacked, maybe he's thrown the towel in. If he's been sacked after that long rant by the chairman, the fans could reasonably assume the club don't have a clue what they're doing.

My lasting memory of Cooper was him calling a supporter a 'fat f*cker' in front of the family enclosure during a match.

Single handedly............ so the 11 players on the pitch on both occasions had nothing to do with it. That really is up there in your top 2 silly statements.

Sounds like a nasty piece of work, just the sort of manager we need.

i think that managers getting the sack treat it as an occupational hazard

WANKER!!!

so you are glad he got sacked because he had enough about him to beat pools on 2 ocassions with non league teams. he also scored a lot of goals for us during a very bad time.

you really can be a cock.

I agree that Cooper in my eyes is a Pools legend.

nah he couldn't be arsed at times so I won't call him anything near that - he was a good player on his day but was also part of a lot of the dressing room unrest under Houchen

Didn't Mark Cooper effectively go on strike when he played for Pools? He started well but I reckon he scored less than ten goals for the club, hardly legendary is it? His attitude was also terrible. We've had far better players.

In short I couldn't give a fook about Mark Cooper but that chairman at Peterborugh seems dangerous to me, loose cannon springs to mind!

I remember 1 very good free kick, that's about my only memory of him.

Wasnt there a clause in his conract where if he scored 10 goals for us then we owed his previous club more money so when he got to 9 goals we stopped playing him?

Or am i dreaming that?

Well he certainly played in 3 of the next 5 games, after his 9th goal, and was a unused sub in another. But he only played in 2 of the last 11 matches that season.

Info courtesy of the usual place.

Said free kick was at the Vic' against Carlisle just after the Cumbrians were singing "you're shyte & you know you are".
Cooper scored from 40 yards followed by a song from the Millhouse Terrace of " we're shyte & we're 1-0 up" Class. clappp clappp

We lost 2-1 of course!!! banghead banghead banghead

Cooper for Manager- Neale or Mark or even Terry or Henry but get rid of Tubby for fooks sake. taz

Jim Gannon has already replaced him which seems quite a quick transition.

Wonder how long he lasts there.

I like the idea of Terry Henry being manager, he's still good enough to be player manager in fact.
