Our Drummer went to see him last year with his 80-yr old Mam....His Mam nodded off 3 hrs into the show at 12 o'clock. Doddy left the stage at 1.22am.

He then drove home to Great Ayton from Scarborough, getting in at 2.40am. On a Mid-Week night!!!

VFM from the boy from Knotty Ash!!

Right! He's on the things to do list before he or I dies.

Have you ever been to Knotty Ash? What a dump, a dump with NO jam Butty Mines.

Apparantly according to Wikipedia, she's a Charlton fan.

As, I say, I'll watch anything, me.

And Lenny Henry's good as well.

Aye shes an addyke alright.

Lenny Henry is about as funny as the bubonic plague, I can't even think of anyone less funny than him, maybe Victoria Wood.

Apparently her favourite delicacy is a vertical bacon sandwich.

Billy Connolly.

Wasn't his Ken Bigley joke absolutely hilarious?

My middle Brother, not the one on here, LIVED there!!!! rolfl rolfl

Ruff As Fook.[/quote]

I lived there for six months or so, and I agree. Not so much "tattifilarious" as just plain tatty. Mind you, half of Liverpool fits into that category.....

Dodd is something of a legend to those that have seen him live - I know plenty that have - he loves to perform, and has to be pretty well dragged off stage in the wee small hours so that the venue can close!

I had waited a very long time to see Doddy live. Finally did it a couple of years ago at the Diddlesbrough Town Hall, a serious dissapointment. I blame the audience, they didn't really seem to respond to him, me included I suppose, and I found myself looking at my watch wanting it to finish.

That must have been a big disappointment, BP. I suppose it's a two-way thing, if the audience wasn't enjoying it, I'm sure the guy on stage senses it. But then, real pros like Ken Dodd, Jimmy Tarbuck, Bruce Forsyth and Paul Daniels would shake it off.

I saw him at Sunderland and thought the same - he was on too long. As has been said since he should cut down his act and put a bit more quality in and he would be be worth going to see.

If they can make me laugh, I like them.

I also like
Jasper Carrott
The Two Ronnies
Morecambe and Wise
Tommy Cooper
Robin Williams
Steve Martin

Every time I see Andy Parsons on 'Mock the week', I keep thinking he looks like he should be a midget (or whatever the PC term is for that).

Mr Kent - Sue Perkins is by far and away the worst comedienne I've ever had the misfortune to go and see. She had about 5 minutes of material which she stretched out for 50 minutes. Its the first time I've been home from a comedy gig by 9 o'clock.

The comics I would recommend that I've seen recently would be Sarah Millican, Lucy Porter, Rhod Gilbert, Andy Parson, Marcus Brigstock and Reginald D Hunter.

I always wondered who liked Robin Williams.

Personally, I find the man about as funny as a death warrant.

Bill Hicks was far and away the best comedian ever! FACT!!!

Bill Hicks was superb. Would love to have seen him. He just seemed to be breaking through in the UK when he got Cancer.
Another sad loss to the world of comedy.

lie alert!!!!!!!!!!

you just put them in as your first choice got shot down and were all crap.

Why does everyone rave about lee evans as well he is crap. Like fankie boyle on mock the week but my mate went to see him and said he wasnt all that.

I personally like going to junglers comedy club some of the people on there are well funny but unknown.

Last time i went there a welsh comic was on asking people what music they like he said "I like LL cool J or as we call him in the valleys lllll-cool-jay (pronounced like the start of Llanelli)"
